I think many aspects of WAR are brilliant. When you get into a warband moving from keep to keep, or a decent group on scenario pvp. I think the tome of knowledge is slick and I like the interface. The graphics look great , even though they do tend to clash in styles depending on which realm your in, sometimes serious sometimes carttony. I like the character models on the whole, even though I don't think there's the kind of individuality I was hoping for , outside colouring it. ...But all that aside, most of the time for me it's like walking into an apocalypse...with no survivors.. in a lonely echo chamber. Its alright people saying reroll to another server but when you spend a large chunk of time developing a character that option loses it's appeal. Anyway it should be up to others to act swiftly making sure populations are active.. Haloween was desperate for me....kill 100 enemy players..I had to try and kill the same angry Dwarf over and over....somewhat takes the P. I think the patches Mythic are introducing look great, the game runs well...but the server populations are dismal. I am playing on the european servers from England and the german servers are busier. Games workshop Nottingham is an hour away from me. Its our concept, but definatly not our game by the looks. This game is fantastic when busy and if it were more or less the norm, subscribers would come flocking in. IF I were Mythic I would announce major population adjustments "NOW"..far more important than another class. We all know Wotlk is about to take a chunk of players so surely this should be treated as problem number one. I built a new computer to play WAR , could'nt wait for it to arrive. Pursuaded many to purchase and play shouting it's praises. So....pull your socks up Mythic before you lose all the good work you've put in....Also I would prefer another city with a higher population to trek about in rather than The Inevitable City....Can be a bit cyberspace and depressing....I'm an Orc, give me a bar with beer not bacardi. |

M8, the servers are empty NOT because they have too many servers (they were FULL at launch), but people left because thet game is not good. Period. I said 6 weeks ago, you get bored with it after playing it for 7 days. Unless of course, you dreamed up it would be good and invested insane amounts of money just to play it/ How about a look in the mirror and go play a real mmoRPG (choice is yours).

I think my post is pretty objective on the whole. I apoligize for not listening to you specifically weeks ago. I am a bit confused at why you replied to this post when you don't play it anymore. I still want to play and do not agree with you that the game is no good, i still think it has potential. I realize the servers were busier at launch and my point was for mythic to do something now for those of us who want to continue to play....What are you calling a real mmorpg....to which game are you refering...i've looked in the mirror and the answer is eluding me |

Just wondering what you think is a real mmorpg :) Well, lots of choices. it depends on what you want to play. But the RPG elements of War are certainly not as good as most other games out there. And that's where all MMORPG are about no ? Having a new computer before the launch of a new game and investing much money is not a good starting point to look upon it in an objective way. Same with all those AoC "upgrades" that were being done in May. It could work of course: I remember having a lot of fun with Mark of Chaos, because I wanted to like it - no matter if other RTS were better - but in MMORPG's you have the problem of a "long term investment". So taking a few steps back and questioning what would I like to play as an on line Role Playing Game makes sense. Better than continue play and constantly wondering what went wrong. Nothing went wrong. War is just an MMO without much RPG and a not so succesfull game for most players apparently. I always feel the succes of a game after playing it for a few days. Other people don't think the same. Np, but the OP talked about frustration, so I wanted to help him. He must choose the game he wants. Nobody else can. |
