Well said. Though thesedays i do wait for player reviews to come out now about games. A 4 person applauding the game and 40 cursing the game says to me loud and clearly, to stay away from it, at this moment in time, take another look 6-12mths down the line, if its still got the same feedback from whatever players are left (or low server populations then that also says the same thing, stay away from it.

 

Yes make sure we all stay away from the game because ManeStream has consolidated the number of negative MMO posts versus the number of possitive MMO posts. I challenge you ManeStream, round up a list over all people that have played AoC after 17th of Sep and see how many that will paint you that doom picture you crave. I am very sure you by fare will get most + reviewes. Finally when you run your 4 vs 40 thing in the post above, does Lumache, Orzo, Cuda69 or any of those other 20 MMORPG personalities that crazy AoC hater has count as one poster or as +20? If not, I think you need to reconsidder you recomondation method. In my opinion, the best thing to do, is to find people that currently play the game and get their oppinion based on real play. It's just gonna be an opinion, but it is ten times better than what you suggest.

 

Sadly thats very tough around here since so many that claim to play are obvious over the top advetisers for the game. As far as trying to paint it as if the people who dislike the game are runnig multiple account s to bad mouth thegame you of course, in the name of fairness< are going to name the large number that showed up after it was suggested that they come here to spam the forums about how great the game is?? This thread is the perfect example and all of the usual suspects seem to be present. Some cover it up better than others but they are pretty transparent.

Oh an dplease be sure to add "crazy aoc lover  who has accounts ( I thnk you meant accounts)as one poster or 20" to your vocabulary if you plan on being taken seriously. Its far from one sided.

You basically agree with me then. ManeStreams 4 vs 40 method is probably off the wall wrong. Again, ask a few gamers that actually play AoC about what they think. There would probably be 10 times more help in this approach.

He's probably talking about that particular shill for the game.  In fact, that's the one that first instigated others on the AoC forum a few weeks ago to come to the MMORPG forum and fill it with positive current messages.  His line of persuasion was to discredit dissenters by propagating the blanket claim that anyone that didn't like the game must not have played it recently.  Unfortunately, there are many of us here that currently play, or have played very recently.

Strangely enough, his relentless messages of pure propaganda is so apparent that he even annoys fans of the game - few people can stand him anymore even on the AoC official forum.

To me, it's one thing to discuss the merits of a game.  It's another to come to a message board with an agenda like that - honesty is usually the first casualty.

Age of Conan isn't horrible.  I would give Tortage a 7/10.  After that it quickly falls to a 4/10.

But to rate this game a 10/10?

This is viral marketing or someone has broken out of the asylum and snuck onto a computer.

I personally think the game opens up after Tortage, i would not give it a 10/10 prolly 8/10 the bugs and crap i encountered in beta are non existent from what i have seen, the maps are not as small as some ppl say, and it has Zones? my AoC sreens load twice as quick as Warhammer's screens now if we want to talk about immersion breaking i can see where you are coming from but i wait no longer than 5 seconds max between screens some are Instantanious (is that a word? well it is now)

Overall i think the game has come a bloody long way since launch and i know that there was all the fiasco with FC but the game itself does deserve a lot better than 6/10 so FC lied and screwed ppl over, so they say but would you still be there if they implemented what they said they would, i mean it does make me laugh we all knew it was gonna be a PC resource hog but yet when it launch ppl did nothing  but whinge and complain because there PC's could not handle it.

Just this Morning my Guild would have recruited i reckon about 35-40 ppl in a span of about 2-3 hours that to me is a good sign, all i can say is that if you can Look past FC's debacle of a launch and see where the game has come from and heading then i think a few ppl will have different opinions, and please do not come here and tell me ""i resubbed and there ws no 1 on, the servers were dead yada yada yada so im not gonna play"" SET server is alive and kicking i actually had myself  fighting to get to mobs today because there was too many damn ppl on lol, now you can say what a load of shit but i know what i seen and experienced this morning SET server was going off , yeah ok this is only 1 server out of how many? but if ppl opened there eye's now instead of focussing on the past they could prolly roll and enjoy themselves as well.

I have not made it to top of the lvl's so i cant comment on that area but up to early 50's (52) the game seems fine can honestly  say i have encountered 1 bug and that was just a matter of my toon not putting his shield away when he should have so therefore i was holding an arrow and shield in the one hand, heh minor glitch which was fixed once i Zoned form that area anyways.

The Game is not perfect but is pretty bloody good, the only thing that turns me off the game is the fact that some ppl still like to blaitantly spread shit about the game when they have not been there since launch or are yet to even try it.

All my Opinion and am not stating this is how it is  for everyone just my Experience in game so far.

I give it 8/10 for how it as it's current state.

Think of my review this way. AoC would have been a 10/10 if it wasn't for the crafting system. Crafting pulls AoC down to a 9/10. Easy and honest.

So your saying if the crafting was inplemented and good the game would be 10/10. That means its the perfect game with no room for improvement?
