Be grateful, EQ maintenance day would go all day or longer most of the time and with very little updates from the staff about whats going on. Or dont, I really dont give a crap. Cancel all 2 of your accounts and go play minesweeper or something, you will be missed im sure.

I firstly wished they would be down forever for the sake of what is good in mmorpgs but then I realized WoW riff-raff playerbase would invade other real mmorpgs and plague them, so I wish them to work perfectly again.

Welcome to MMOs and especially to World of Warcraft, oh-most-obvious-of-a-noob OP.

Two links above are to keep you informed, in addition to the other messages other posters have already mentioned.  There is no conspiracy against you, happens almost every Tuesday, get over it.  This is not IT ignorance - see $OE and SWG for that.  Tell you what - when you find any computer-based service that is up absolutely 100% of the time, you let us know.  Because you won't.

Ah, yes..yes indeed sir...how dare Blizzard do scheduled maintainance on the day before a major new expansion hits the shelves. I am sure it was done to personally slight you and had nothing to do with anyone or anything else.

Here is my suggestion: Cancel your accounts immediately, including the one made for MMORPG.com and never, ever look back. Stay off the MMO games...they are all just a scam to bilk you personally out of money. Trust me...you (and by extension all of us) will be much, much happier for it.)

What is flooring me about this is how people somehow didn't see this coming.

Blizz is the master of train wrecks when it comes to content releases. The initial launch sucked, TBC sucked (not as bad), most of the big patchs sucked and shockingly enough, WOLTK launch is going to suck. They will make some statement about how they underestimated the popularity of the xpac, as the servers go down in a hail of queues and lag, thanking us for our patience the whole while.

I play WoW, I don't like that this is the way it is, but its reality. For a company once famous for not releasing things until they are ready, blah, blah...they are not capable of releasing things in any form of workable state. Rent a movie, read a book because my money is on the servers not being playable until sometime sunday. In a week they will most likely be all sorted out and we can get back to griping about pvp inbalance and how OPed Class X is in comaparison to mage/rogue/small child who though he rolled "OMFGPWNZORIWIN" as a class.

If people can't handle that, you need to stop playing.

Thanks for all the personal attacks with me posting about the WoW server.  Sorry I'm am not as adept as you professional gamers as I am a mere noob in your eyes when it comes to WoW.

As I stated in my first post and through reading the WoW forums I was stating my observations through a trial subscription plagued with nothing but issues and offline servers due to the zombie infestation.  Now that I am on my paid time a server maint scheduled for AM is now in the PM EST with no end in sight.

Simply my observations from 17 days of WoW.

Well that explains it then.  You know how you just can't force yourself to look away when there's an auto accident?  Well a train wreck must have 10 times the draw.  We are all just sitting here waiting to see if we can see someone's severed head roll down the hill...no wonder they'll sell 5 million copies overight. Seriously, you didnt expect this?  With the xpack coming tomorrow night, I figure I be lucky to have WoW playable by Friday night.
