Got a 4th recently, that char now has 5 mil SP and is doing quite well in PVP. |

Four score and seven years ago I used to be good at video games! |
Personally, I did not read the 4+pages from my last post! This game need's to start again(REVAMP) or a new server. Everything has been changed from graphics to skill training! Thus game is going to introduce avatar's/toon's, I think we need to wake up the vet's or let them die like SWG! |

Originally posted by ganbee I'm feeling generous so I will summarize what you missed: If you start a new server, it will be largely the same groups who end up controlling all of 0.0 in relatively short order since the power groups hold in this game is almost completely independant of their cumulative SPs. They already know how to make a huge alliance work smoothly. They already know where the 'good' systems and moons are. They already know how the whole political game works. If anything this server would attract tons of vets like me who would take it as a big land grab opportunity - roll a new char, grab every swinging dick you can recruit ('I'm a vet! I know what I'm doing! Really!'), and spam POS's until everyone's broke or there's no more systems to claim. After all, it'll be months before anyone can actually take 'em down, by then we'd be rolling in dough because I would have made sure we grabbed good ratting systems and good moons. And on the flip side if you want to get into this game on the current server all you have to do, really, is try and be willing to learn. Most 0.0 corps do have an SP minimum but it's generally pretty light (5 mil is common), mostly not because they really care if you have 5 mil SPs or not, they're more looking to recruit people who at least have some idea of how the game works. |

"Not being able to catch up" This statement is incorrect and misleading.
Ofc you can catch up, read about the skill system in EVE and you will see what i mean. |

As far as I know, Eve has only 1 server cose they want the game to be that way. Only one server, only one "Universe". So you will never have this second server. In my honest opinion, try the game, if you like it, just play, dont bother about a fresh start or cacht up other players, this 2 ideas will only make you have less fun or not even try a game you may like. |

Even tho I am not playing EvE online atm, I still want to tell you that making a fresh server is a very bad idea. It goes against the whole concept of a single sharded server. I also endured the hardships of a new player starting a few years after release, and even tho I have quit EvE atm, I still accomplished some things and can see that learning skills is not all there is, if you learn about EvE and the world and all the specs and ins and outs, then you also have an advantage. One of the great things about EvE is that there is only 1 server for the whole World ( except China, which sucks already ). So if you play EvE you play with everyone else on the same server. This is a big part of what makes EvE to what it is, mess with that and you mess with the core of EvE. So no, it is not a good idea, and I suggest you to really try out EvE Online before comming back here and spouting these not well thought out ideas.

Umm, it is really hard for me to not call you a n00b now. It is because SOE messed with SWG that SWG died. If CCP will start messing with EvE by adding more servers, they will end up the same way as SOE with SWG. And newsflash, EvE Online is a VERY healthy game, probably the healthiest mmorpg now and ever. ( In terms of population growth and retainment ). This is a game that will survive WoW ( if WoW ever dies ). So please get your facts straight.

CCP will do what ever is needed to keep EvE healthy and subscriptions coming in as with any busniess they will have to adapt to some change if starting a new server looks like could work with there vision of the future you will see a new server. |
