Reason why DCU will be sucssesful is becouse alot think it is a way between DCU and champions, but the true secret is that DCU will pile on the players and COX will end up dead becouse champions will take all the players from it, i seen the gencoms vids for champions and basicly it is COX but with better graphics and no zones to keep you in a short area to roam, but DCU is completly diff like comparing dc to marval one is a natual born hero and one was created, so criptic has made a huge misstake by makeing a mmo that will basicly compete against it self, thay should have kept with marval online at least it would be worth battling against.

The last I heard, Cryptic sold off the CoX franchise to NCSoft and are their own developer now.  Champions will be its own game and I'm sure Cryptic wants to take all the CoX players that they can.

As for DCU, the impression I get so far is that it plays like a coin-op arcade game closer to street fighter than an actual MMO.   Add in the 'velvet rope' approach and micro transactions to the game and I'm sure people will end up getting less content for a higher out of pocket cost than champions.

Just like Daffid said I too believe Champions is going to try to bleed CoX of the remaining players as much as possible. It isn't their game anymore so they will not be competing against themselves. If champions is successful and taking many of the subscribers of CoX you will probably see sweeping changes to keep up with the competition and more then likely shut it down if it loses too much. NCsoft are shrewd businessmen and we know they do not hesistate to shut down a game that is costing them profits.

time will tell

all of the expected MMO features are listed: character leveling, PvP arenas, raids, shared environments as well as instanced zones.
