Brad, get a team together... find some sucker still willing to finance you, hire me and lets make Vanguard 2..... new graphics engine, back to the original "vision" and no straying away from it.... and release it when its finished.... hell if Vanguard really is running that much better maybe we can just pick up where you left off and finish the game.. then release it as Vanguard: A new Beginning

Telon or not, I agree that McQuaid ought to get back out there. There's not enough pushing against the WarCraft-born trends that permeate fantasy MMOs as they are now, and there is a phenomenal hole remaining where Sigil was. |

From what I have heard, Intel's coming title will challenge the way wow works, going for skill based and better graphics. |

How can you soar with eagles, when you work with turkeys. |
Originally posted by Swiftblade13 Brad Mcquaid had a vision that much is true. But where he is a good visionary and a developer of MMO's, he sorely let himself AND others down by being a terrible manager and a CEO. The guy is not enough of a "B*stard" to be a manager. He hasn't got the forceful charisma to be a CEO. Thus he made the wrong decisions, employed the wrong people for the wrong reasons. And when the time came, he couldn't motivate people in the right way. Vanguards development was doomed to flounder from the start. This is why Brad McQuaid should NEVER be a high profile manager or in a high CEO position ever again. He would be doing himself a disservice, and any project he worked on. With that said, Brad McQuaids name is sullied enough to marr any project he put his name to. Just like Richard Garriott. Brad is better off working with a team quietly, away from media attention, until the project reached a stage whereby the product itself is generating enough interest without announcing that Brad has anything to do with it. THEN, and only then, can he use it as a way to lift his name and reputation out of the mire. |

So what your saying is that Brad McQuaid is a bit like Mr. Ybarra (from Matrix to Stargate), just Brad had the vision, not the leadership, and Ybarra lacks the vision but has the leadership. |

Actually it did early on... before they started to stray from the vision... It was supposed to be the "Spiritual successor to EQ1" with corpse runs, xp loss on death, massive open world etc.
