I've been to a lot of forums.  I've been in a lot of heated discussions.  That's what forums are for.

The moderating on this site is quite pathetic.  I never thought I would think overmoderating would be a bad thing till I came here.  It's almost as if they are just itching to swing their epeen on the suspensions and bans. It's really out there.  I've been banned once came back, got suspended for next to nothing.  Didn't cuss or do much.  In fact I've been suspended a couple times without a clue as to why it happened.  I looked at why they suspended me and couldn't figure it out.

I've seen legitimate discussions get locked for NO reason.  And believe me I understand when something should be banned or locked.  The people moderating these forums however don't.  It's just pretty sloppy.

Anyways I'll probably get a ban by one of the preteens now just for kicks, but I don't come here enough to really care anymore since it seems to be run by vengeful kiddies so have at it!

Just wanted to drop my 2 cents

Your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of Elderberries.

If you think you have been unjustly banned or had your account suspended you can always contact Richard Cox via community@mmorpg.com

Unfortunately your thread goes against the Rules, since any action by a moderator is never discussed in public. I'm sure a moderator will come along and lock this thread.

I can understand your frustration, I'm sure any problem can be sorted out.

I don't think, I know I have been.  But when it gets that far it's just not even worth bothering with.

Well this is what the former Community Manager used to do when someone was unsatisfied with MMORPG.com moderators. She would ask you to contact her directly, I don't know if the same still applies with the new Community Manager.

You seem to know a lot of stuff that the mods apparently don't.  Maybe you should apply to be a mod and grace them with your wisdom.

But seriously, contact the community manager.

Honestly?  It's common sense.  Moderating is great.  But when suspensions, locks, bans happen at the drop of that hat it's a lil ridiculous.

I don't have any desire to be a mod, but thanks for noticing my talent.

"I didnt choose to have a beard, the beard choosed to have me!"

After the forum wars a´la CU and NGE at the SWG Offical forum a few years back , all other moderation seems like a touch of a smooth silk glove too me. I found the mods quite good here.

Now Playing: WAR + LotRO Waiting for: -
Collecting dust on my shelf: Ultima Online, EverQuest, Dark Age of Camelot, Shadowbane, Lineage II, SWG, EQ2, D&D Online, Vanguard:SoH, Tabula Rasa, PoTBS, AoC

Wasn't there a thread about undermoderation a few days back?

Hokay, usual fare: Sometimes things slip through the cracks; We're human, we make mistakes, we try really hard to avoid them, but it does happen. If you think something's gone tits-up somewhere along the line, you should contact the community manager at community@mmorpg.com. He's a good guy, and he knows what he's doing.

In regards to getting banned for little reason: Warn/ban history is taken into account when issuing warns and/or bans. If a person gets off of a ban and then goes and breaks the ROC (even a minor violation) really soon after, then they're likely to get banned again for it. But it varies from case to case.

If you've seen discussions get locked.. well, that really depends on the type of discussion. Sometimes it gets locked because it's gone too far off topic, sometimes it gets locked because it's descended into a flamewar. Sometimes an ancient thread is revived and it gets locked for the sake of keeping things clean. It really, really depends on the thread.

Final minor note in regards to moderator age.. I'm pretty sure all of our active moderators are old enough to legally drink and drive.

Well, I mean, not both at the same time, obviously.

That'd be drink-driving.

And that's bad.

And illegal!

Drive safe, kids.

I agree. One of my posts got delete a little while ago and I got a warning.

My post was saying that World of Warcraft pupulations looked really low after I logged back in after 8 months..  THAT's what I got a warning for... that's considered "trolling"
