I would hope a pay to play game would have a more modern and bandwidth friendly auction house to avoid the clutter.

The rest seems interesting so far.

Nobody uses the vendor feature, there's an AH (without biddings, just direct sales) and people use that.

True that. I have seen only 2 stalls so far. Everyone uses AH.

Only one bug as been found by my guild and that was a repeatable quest where you can collect free gold over and over (300 gold each time). Besides that nothing at all, its a finished game to be sure. One thing about my videocard (8800gts) I set it to max with AA at +8 and was getting GFX errors, I set it to +4 and its fine. I'm playing on the west coast of US and i hardly ever get lag which is crazy.

Congrats! You win small minded and racist comment badge of the day.

You don't know jack about the current trends of MMOs in Asia. In fact there's comments on this very forum on the subject.. Look it up.

Um, exactly where was the racist comment? His opinions there are very much valid. If you want to design a game for westerners to play, you don't ask easterners "Is this good for the westerners?".

Put the race card back in your deck for a time when it actually warrants using.

Goozex.com Try it, you'll like it.

Don't have sigs with a cheerleaders butt swinging in it, or the prudes in the Age of Conan forum section of mmorpg.com will demand the mods have it removed.

This statement would be correct but for one thing. eastern gamers (koreans) started out by playing japanese games that where simple and grinders because that's all they had. But then came WOW and they got there first taste of a western style of game, And now they will not accept another grinder game. So in order for the korean dev's to survive they must addapt. I think we will be seeing the end of grinder games esp. p2p games. So I think your view of eastern gamers is a little outdated.

Not a retired MMORPG.com mod

Fedex WoW style quests in a starter zone doesn't sound creative.

If the questgivers have stupid floating icons over their heads I am passing on this game. Darkfall won't  be following that stupid trend that WoW started.

Is darkfall out yet?  One thing about Aion. They have never had a NDA, even through CB1, CB2, CB3. They are not hiding nothing unlike some games.

I get it in the assumption that somehow an entire continent of people WANT a different game then us oh so awesome westerners.

They don't. There are very good reasons why there's a plethora of Chinese and Korean F2P MMOs and why there are such a hard 'grind' to them, and nothing has to do with this is what the average Asian gamer wants. It's what they have and what they can afford. Given the choice what do you think they would play?

Well apparently WoW.

There are subtle differences between the west and east, like a preference for click to move vs WASD, but that's nothing to do with content. Truth is everyone wants actual content that isn't kill 2000ish bears every level..

And why make the assumption that the game would be vastly better because westerners could give their own voice? That's right because you think you are different. I don't think so.

We have enough dissent in the gaming world as it is, soloer vs raider, PvPer  vs PvEer, RPer vs non RPer... ect. Is it actually fair to say that people from a different country, race, continent are not good enough to create or give criticism that would appeal to everyone? That their voice is not valid because it doesn't come from western shores?

You like to generalize about the east? How would you like it if I generalized about Americans (if you are American...Insert your nationality if you aren't) ? Trust me you wouldn't like it at all and I would easily be called a bigot and the flames would be huge.

I have a problem with this attitude that somehow NCsoft who has years of experience in both the east and west are not smart enough to give us a product that would cater to our evolved gaming needs.

I've said about a 100 times in the last 2 years, a game made in Korea, Japan, or made in US, UK will be tested by the people of that part of the world's language. THE END. Maybe someday that will change but for now that's how it is.

Localisation is also currently underway with the Ncsoft rep team from the respective languages/region paying attention to feedback. No I did not pull that out of thin air or my arse. :)

I do apologize for my outburst, but please think about how and what you are writing.
