Being a boring game is an opinion, and you will get different responses from different people.

It is a very slow game though, it's not a get in and kill type game.

What can you do though? Run missions, build ships, mine, pirate, antipirate, join an alliance and take part in 0.0 warfare, the list is endless.

Eve is a sandbox, and becomes what you make of it. My only advice is to join a good corporation that shares your goals after you get a feel for the game. Trying to get into combat alone will be a very bad experience, but if you have a nice corporation to join you, it can be fun.

Breakdown: Achiever 33.33%, Explorer 60.00%, Killer 66.67%, Socializer 40.00%

It will be hard for me to get in depth  since im sure others will do that, but i can advice you to atleast a few things to get you going..

ps: there is no short answer in EVE...

Complete the Training program!

thats my absolutely best advice, since that will help you understand the basics.

Do NOT recruit yourself into a 0.0 corp which is in need of PvP players...

Get the hang and flow of your ship before joining a nice corp that is interested in YOUR future

Shoot some stuff, die a few times, then die some more..

Die some more ;)

Thats the best way of learning...

DO NOT FLY IN PVP WHAT YOU CANT AFFORD TO LOSE!! rule number 1!!! ;) you´ll learn why when u die ;)

HAVE FUN ;)...

edit: Yes..it is a slow learning game...very slow..but once it  get going, it accelerates and wont stop..shit, i cant stop, and i stop once a week lol :)

The game can get boring at times but over all its what you do with the game. If you mine alot yes it will get boring.

Played : WOW, LOTRO, COH/COV, EQ2, SWG, WAR.
Playing EVE Online, AOC, and WAR .

the reason that the game ranks so highly is that it chooses to be different from the bulk of what MMOs do and then chooses to do it well.

The sandbox part is very real, the game is boring if you only do PvE content. While the PvE portion has been and will be expanded on, it is not the point of the game.

If you are finding it boring, do some research in a gameplay area that interests you, if that is only PvE content then you will probably quit after a few months. The game has a huge amount of depth to explore.

I find the game very interesting, so don't find it boring. sure it can be dull and tedious at times, but i can always be looking at something new (even if that is recent changes in the market).

The PvP is very exciting because the outcome matters. The harsh loss of your ship, rigs, modules (possibly partially recoverable), and maybe implants mean that you have something to loose. Then there is the territorial warfare aspects, which involve a lot of diplomacy and people management.

there is a free trial, give it a go, but don't expect it to spoon feed you content, direction, or be like fps action game.

Woah, sounds interesting. It's a maybe. I've played WoW for 2 and a half years so.. this is obv completley diffrent from what Im used to.

Please answer some questions?

What is it like to build a ship? what are the features of building?

Do you mean building a ship buy getting unique parts to make you sort of stand out?

What is PVP like?

Do you get a feel of unique-ness and proud-ness from playing and getting better ships? do people look up to you? (I like an mmo were you work for something and you get it, its completley unique and people look up to you)

Im aware I could go to FAQ'S or other sites. But I want to hear diffrent opinions.

people kind of look up to you if you are flying a pimped out ship, but most will just think of you as a bigger target.

Hehe, yeah I suppose so. Justed asked the question because its nice to work for something and have people supporting you and wishing they had it :P e.g Getting one of the Illidari war glaives from Black temple in WoW and people were all like "OMFG. o.O" :P

Yes. A bigger ship just means it's a bigger Pinata.

People will go "omfg" when you do something incredible. Killing someone solo out of his group, killing someone through outthinking him etc.
If you fly something just to show off, people will go "omfg" too, but for entirely different reasons, which usually involve a lot of ammo being directed at you.
