Pretty intresting documentary about Chris Langan with an IQ around 190 or 210

The video offers nothing but a man telling the audience how smart he is. He offers no facts or theories. He is a self-proclaimed genius because he got lucky on an IQ test which, by the way, he fails to mention which one he completed. Is he a member of Mensa? He claims to be smarter than Einstein.

Hawking would wipe the floor with this guy.

my IQ is 185 and Im a member of Mensa. Trust me, this guy is not the smartest guy in the world. Far from it. You should go to a mensa convention..I swear, while all of them have high IQs, their common sense IQ is sorely lacking.

The only good thing about my mensa membership is various discounts i get on car insurance, mortgages, hotel rooms, etc. That's about it.

But a guy with a 190.....doesn't mean he's the smartest guy on earth. Far from it.

Edit: he does seem humble....so I give him props for that. That's a rarity.

IQ tests don't seem to show real intelligence.

I did fine on mine, more than average. 

But most of the questions are just about insight, and that insight you can only get if you understand what it's about.

Ask someone from Congo to fill in an IQ test and they will get a very low score. Not because they are dumb, just because they don't understand the question and way to think about it.

I know if you do many IQ tests you get better at them because you know how the questions are formed and how to look for an answer.

There are even books to train on IQ tests because the questions are predictable and are all made in the same form.

So, I don't think scoring good on an IQ test actually shows you how smart you are. Neither does being a good speller or fluent talker, or making much money.

I've noticed that people who mention their high IQ score are almost always lacking something in their lives.  Usually a high IQ score.

I've never taken an IQ test so I have no idea where I'd stack up.  I've also never met anybody who claims to have an above average or high score so I can't really give my personal account.  I'm tempted to take Enigma's advice and go to one of these mensa meetings just to see for myself how smart these people really are.

Mine was 141 though I took the test awhile ago and rushed through it to beat my brother. I would liek to take one down where I don't have something like that interferring.
