He may not be talkin about the bugs, he may be talking about the ill concieved core design and mechanics. Side note: the 'everything is fixed now since patch X.XX' is a fallacy. The alt-tab crashing bug, continued reports of random lock-ups, major latency issues since launch (see the 113 page thread in the tech section of the official forums). |

the core design isn't ill conceived. Its designed to be instanced so we can have good graphics without sub coming to huge latency issues. The alt tab bug is easily fixed. People just need to delete their shader cache and then load up AoC and it'll patch it. The bug is caused by the game no updating correctly, or shutting down correctly. Same thing with falling through the world. Random look-ups? If you mean the lag spikes those are continued to be solved, some minor issues have come up since Direct X was updated. Also, most people don't keep their ui mods up to date which causes issues as well. I haven't had the game freeze and I'm not playing on a top end machine. And if I said its been fixed since patch X thats because the game doesn't crash or do OOMs unless you do something weird like close out the vent over lay without closing vent first. For some reason that causes the game to crash, but that's a compatibility issue with the overlay and AoC not really a AoC problem. |

If anything is assumed to be other than bullshit, theres something wrong with the perspective. |

If players themselves have to go delete file folders in order to "fix" AoC properly, then "paying to beta" comes to mind. That does not sound like good game coding. Unless, unless unless.. AoC is a damn good game "unless" you... "insert here". Make the game work like so many other games. Stop blaming Windows, or Ventrilo or whatever and start doing their game code right. Since other games does not have those issues, why should AoC? |

The game runs absolutely without a glitch for me now, and noone in my guild has any serious problems that I know of. Before the last patch there were some latency spikes, but the last patch fixed those too for me. I'm not saying that noone has any problems, but you give the impression that the game code is in beta state, and I say that it is not so. I find AoC a damn good game by it's core, but which has been through a bumpy ride, and that it can only improve from here. A lot of the improvement is coming along nicely, and I look forward to the future years i will spend in this game. |

That's just for starters, even Warhammer is falling down pretty hard after its massive hype, I don't think anything will be able to match or beat WoW for years to come. I don't even care for the new Star Wars: The Old Republic either, I don't think it'll succeed as much as I personally think it should.

funcom completely fucked themselves with launching when they did but from when i stopped playing which was like a month ago i think the game had started to actually become fun so i dont think it will be a pos for very much longer.
never played war so i cant say, just looks boring imo though.
im hoping that SW:TOR will be fantastic and a dream come true but with so many bitter tastes in my mouth from the last few years of new mmo's i doubt it will be any good |

I can list other games that have compatibility issues with many programs: Vanguard, SWG, WAR, LotrO, and a good portion of F2P games. Its not the coding, its just a capitability issue. When the only time I CTD is when I close out my vent overlay then I know its the vent overlay, when I crash because I have a torrent running in the back ground then its the torrent and AoC competing for the same memory. Its not the coding. Nice try though. Numerous things can go wrong when you patch any game, even WoW and that game is designed to be played on windows 98. Should it be as rampant as it is, not at all, but its really a minor issue. As far as the world being "small" well that really is a personal thing. I for one don't see it small. It takes a good 5-10mins on a horse back to get from one end to the other running in a straight line. |

I agree.. I played to almost the 50's then just lost interest. I think it's when they started removing the adult content and other things little by little I realized they strayed from there original vision of the game and were just going after subscriptions. I may check the game out again in a year or so. For now, sticking with EQ2. At least with that game I know what to expect and know I won't be let down. |
