Today i turned on my computer, went to check my email, and the SAVED info didnt let me log in. I got an error code that said something along the lines of "the account doesnt exist, or the password and username is incorrect". This often happens with hotmail/msn, (random errors, works later). So im not too worried at this point. I proceed to start WOW, and again, the username is saved, and i have a G15 keyboard, and we'll say G1 is binded/macro'd to my password. I enter this, and it says "the username and password is incorrect" I try it again thinking i may have hit the G button twice, as ive done before, sure enough, thats not what happened.
Sounds to me like i got keylogged/hacked. Ive used my credit cards to renew wow subs, buy pizza offline, etc etc. What do i need to do? Call blizz and have them cancel wow and change pass over phone, cancel my credit cards used on this computer. And MSN has no PHONE NUMBER that i can find to contact them... just make a new email and pretend the old one never got stolen? |

Read this: Blizzard Support If you see charges in your account that you didn't do then yes cancel your credit card. As for your WoW account just call them on Monday, the will ask you a few questions to confirm it's your account, and then they will reset the password for you. At most you would have to fax them a notarized document saying it's your account blah blah. Once you get your account back if everything was deleted just throw in a ticket saying your account was hacked and you need a roll back. If your character was deleted you can make a lowbie alt and tell them what's up. No matter what happens to your account as long as you are the original owner you can always get your stuff back. Edit Add: In the meantime download Ad-aware and some free antivirus software. Scan your computer and make sure everything is clean before you get your password sent back to you. |

So cancel credit cards for sure. As far as MSN hotmail. I dont get much important email, mostly junk. Do you think id be safe just making a new email and making like nothing ever happened? Or should i follow through as much as possible with Hotmail customer support as well? |

If the email account didn't have anything important in it then I'd junk it. I suggest going with Gmail as they are just better all around in my opinion. If you think you will want your hotmail account back at all I suggest doing it now rather than later. Edit Add: Yeah you can format as it's the best way to get rid of all the nasty stuff. Just make sure you get some kind of anti virus in place before surfing around a lot and make a practice of checking your computer at least once every few weeks. |

I actually have a pretty good anti virus that I pay for. It does cause problems sometimes, but it keeps my computer safe. I have the three computers for a year deal and I have it on two computers already so if you'd be interested I could PM you the details to be the third user. Edit Add: Don't listen to the poster below me. My bf and I have both been hacked, our stuff deleted, and we got all of our stuff back. Stop scaring the poor guy karat! |

Good luck getting your stuff back. My old guildleader was hacked and lost everything on all of his 70s and they told him sorry about your luck. |

sorry to ask again, but do you think just re-formatting the HD would be the safest, most guaranteed way to be rid of whatever is logging or hacking? |
