Games are releasing with too many servers, which makes every server low/med populations... let's face it, too many people is not a bad thing. I used to love being a solo MMO player, but that is an antiquated notion. People like playing with other people or they would be playing Oblivion instead.

I could go on and on about the change in the MMO market, the rabid consumers, and the weak-willed developers, but the fact is that if you want to survive in this day and age in the MMO biz... you can afford few mistakes."

This is the best explanation of Aventurine's policy that I have found. Whatever you think of it, I'm sure that, if they have the game they say they have, then some version of this is the motivation behind their secrecy.

They also did not hold a Beta give away here even if it was for 50 logins.

Something as SIMPLE as that would give them so much credibility. But again.. for some STRANGE reason..  it can't be done. Every other game does it..

Uh...why would they when they'd be under NDA anyway? Why would they want someone to make judgements about a game based on the BETA testing? Are you that thick?

I do agree with you to some extent about the 'judgement' of a closed beta, but when you consider the fact that this game is supposedly launching this year, you'd think it should be almost complete.

I'm amazed that not a single person has come forth and even posted a screenshot to confirm that closed beta is in fact being carried out. Anyone without downs could get away with it. We've been going by what Tasos has been saying for the last few years with hardly any actual proof to show for it. The most gameplay footage seen would not have been possible if it weren't for a fan that got to attend the Athens event.

Aren't you the least bit skeptical/worried about the progress of the game?

I still believe the game will come out eventually, it's just the absolute unorthodox approach these guys have taken that has me wondering when it will happen and how feature-comple the game will be.

No one is in Beta beyond some cherry picked people.

The reason no beta leaks? Simple, there is only one beta tester, Tasos' Mom, and she's not talking.

I would like to know why the fans of the game keep having to come up with excuses for Aventurine's actions instead of Aventurine explaining for themselves?
