Zombie survival should be run and gun. I think 98% of the zombie survival fans want it exactly like it is now. Without guns. Just like the movies. Don't even think I've ever seen a zombie hold a gun in any form of entertainment. And while it would add depth, it just wouldn't be the same anymore. Shooting down masses of brainless zombies trying to eat you is just pure fun.

Sound more to me that you simply don't like the idea of shooting down zombies. That's all fine and dandy, but then you can't really say the game is bad.

 

 

 

 

 

Land of the Dead (I am pretty sure that is the title) had Zombies picking up a M16 and firing it.  But that was Romero having the Zombies evolve.  I think you are right and the vast majority of Zombie fans would rather have the "Run & Gun" style of gameplay. 

Oh yeah that's right. But in that movie it's played on that they are starting to recall things they knew from when they were alive. But yeah, that's true. Either way, being a horror fan(not über zombie fan though), I prefer the total brainless but fast as hell zombie.

Now that I've had a little more time with the game online, I've come to seriously doubt Humanity's ability to survive a zombie holocaust...

Seriously, what the fuck is so difficult about the concept of a firing line. If you can see that I'm going full auto at something around the corner, you don't walk directly into the spray to get some shots in yourself. Maybe it's just because we've all become so used to friendly fire being turned off, but still.

And then there's the ten miles forward guy. This is the guy that's already played the single player part of the demo so much that he knows all the shortcuts and takes off on a speedrun leaving the rest of the group behind. Not a bad thing in and of itself, but then this missing link gets pissed when he sets off a zombie zerg and predictably dies. You then have to listen to him QQ about teamwork until the next round or he logs off.

There's the medical supply miser. This asshat has 100 health, hasn't fired a shot but rushes to grab every damn medkit and painkiller available and never heals anyone else even if everyone else is almost dead and he's still unscratched. This is especially irritating when the game has been set to expert mode where item and ammo starvation are the order of the day.

I never thought I'd find a game where the bots were actually preferable to other human players.

No kidding, the friendly bot AI is better than most humans.  Mostly because they at least attempt to work as a team.

Know exactly what you mean. People who block a small opening only to get sucked in by a smoker, and then be surrounded by zombies.

This is why I play with people I know. It's hilarious, and they are a bunch of noobs like 90 % of the playerbase :D

Best zombie shooter/game I have ever played. I have the full version, AI is INTENSE. The co-op mode campaign is fun and it's amazing, I haven't ran into a prick yet ( which is rare now-a-days in the degenerated wow-era). The versus mode needs a tad bit of work, but pretty fun overall. So far, as a survival game it is absolutely tops. Id say, better than gears of war on many levels, especially the AI and physics.

I bought the game yesterday. I just finished my first online campaign a few minutes ago with 3 other guys. I paid 50 dollars for that game and it was worth more than every penny.

It is so intense that I don't think I can handle playing it more than once a week. There really is a such thing as too entertaining. Left 4 Dead is too entertaining. It totally blew my mind. The adrenaline. The intensity. The sense of hopeless doom and overwhelm.

I was a bit concerned about my computer not being able to run it. But the game ran flawlessly even though my video card is like 4 years old. I highly recommend this game if you are a fan of intense action games.
