Generally I choose a target that's already being wailed on, and melee damage + AM damage = dead player and I'm yet again doing my job, killing the other side before they start killing the people I'm healing. There are a lot of times when I'll interrupt a damage spell casting to throw heals on someone. I enjoy the fact that I can do decent DPS when my team is doing well, instead of just standing around waiting for a health bar to twitch.

However...Myself and other healers are my top priority. It behooves the rest of the team to protect the healers because I will always save myself before I save anyone else.

I fully support this statement.

Waiting for the next thing

So again, this thread is about healers and the ones who do a poor job and maybe need to rethink how they play in a group setting if they want to get the most out of the game for themselves and everyone else.

You seem to be missing the point. The people who are picking a typical healing class then go into a scenario and choose to heal "sometimes" and save the majority of heals for himself and his meleeing prowess... well, he IS getting the most out of the game for him/herself.

They ARE having fun, which is why THEY pay their own subscription. They don't wanna feel like they are at work and their boss tells them "Look, we are part of a team. You are in this spot so you do this, period, or you are fired Flintstone!" To them, its sandbox PvP. They play how THEY want, not how YOU want. You didn't pay their sub fee, you didn't help powerlevel their healer from 1-40. And even though you sound so.. ovarian, in your QQing, you didn't squat and pop them out of your uterus so stop acting and sounding like you are their mommas, lol.

You want a healer to heal you when you want? Form your own "elite" tight-knit team (ala WoW arena teams) then you can uberize whoever you want and QQ when the healer guy isn't healing. And yes, thats exactly what it is. Short of that, pray to Buddha that in your next life you can give birth, so you can drop out healers by the dozen and never die once.

Look at your first post. Its a QQ for sure, although its dressed up like a demand. (Heal or else). More like, "Heal or else.. I'll QQ some more, cause youre not playing the game like its SUPPOSED to be played."

It's pvp. Theres no wrong way to play it.

You come off as a very angry man who's in love with what he has to say, and judging from your interactions with others, not interested in actual discussion, so you can just keep playing a game about grouping and community as selfishly as you please.

Agreed.  Everyone here understands that healers are a balancing act.  Not just between healing and dps, but between hot's and direct heals and cycling through party members applying heals where they belong.  Healers get piled on because often their contribution is the most obvious so mistakes are magnified.

Personally, I'm not trying to complain about healers specifically, but instead people who try to shoe horn a class that's designed for one purpose into another where it doesn't work.  In a class based game where you have a role you're stuck playing some variation of that role and to do otherwise is just stupid.

Hmm.. is that so? Then:

If you're not going to heal, don't roll a healer. Yes healers can do damage, but not at the level a true DPS can. So if you see a DPS going down, start healing.

err.. Who wrote this piece of Sunshine Dogma heralding in the Enlightened Discussion Age? Mother Teresa?

Oh wait. You did Cropper. Do you have some kind of split personality or something?

Are you in a henpecked marriage or work at Burger King where you hate it? News flash..

You do not have to play the way ANYONE says in a PvP game. Just thought you'd like to know that slavery has been abolished, at least in the gaming world.

There are no 'stuck' playing anything in a PvP battle. Its wide open. Theres no one strategy (tanks here, healers here, dps here). People are free to play around and experiment, its called a game. Not a job.

You know, for some of you on here who QQ about WoW and the MMO genre making you play a certain way, you sure can't get the yokes off your own backs.

Healer types in PvP are there to ASSIST you, not to wait hand and foot on you while you have a ball. They wanna get licks in just like the next guy. Bring more pots.

Again...so angry...I'm not sure why you feel the need to blow simple statements up into insults about my personal life and go on long rambling diatribes.

In WAR does an Ironbreaker do ranged dmg as well as a Bright Wizard?  No.  So if you want to do ranged dmg and nothing else then roll the brigh wizard not the Iron Breaker.  Am I being a tyrant and forcing others to bend to my will by making this suggestion?  No, it's common sense.  Use some.  And for your own sake, relax.

Actually he did address your claim properly as opposed to your argument sidetracking it.

Classes are not confined to a specific role. In the larger picture perspective, each spec that you can choose effectively dictates which classes you will do best against. So you are not limited to "only being good at XYZ specific thing". In a more micro level perspective, each spec effectively gives you multiple options for how you play your class. You can be an AOE'er , a dotter, or a single target damager for some classes. Or you can be a tank or a damage dealer. More designed towards taking or dealing damage.

So no, ironbreaker and bright wizard are not a good comparison.

Yeah, in this instance I'm guilty of the same thing I'm accusing him of, but I feel that my point still stands, the healing classes are still primarily healers even though they are required to do dmg to be optimally effective at it and to try to play a class in a style that is drastically different than it's design is counter productive.  In a skill based system a la pre-CU SWG you could play endless styles, but class bas
