Functionless Art is Simply Tolerated Vandalism...

The point of play game is about enjoy the time in the game and have fun.

These 2 guilds just want to show off how fast and profestional they are.

Welfare epics were removed from the game, and while 10-mans do exist for each dungeon, the gear is sub-par to what you would find in the 25-man raids. Casuals are being rewarded casually for their style of play, but to say they "rule the game" or are even remotely competitive is a total joke.

Yes, they rule the game, because if it wasn't for the "casual" person, who probably works all day or, you know... has a life?, then the unemployed/welfare grabbing/living with mommy hardcore gamer wouldn't have his/her pay.

Therefore, yes, casuals own the hardcores :). Cuz in the end, they will have lived life AND still enjoyed wow, while the hardcore just played hardcore, and did nothing else with their lives.

The casuals rule this game now it seems.

When have the "hardcores" ever ruled WoW? Never.

When have the "hardcores" ruled ANY game? Err.. not since early MUDs maybe???

Seriously, while we are on this topic, the vast majority of these "hardcore" gamers people keep referring or alluding to do not even live in the Western Hemisphere. They live in the Far East. Thats where the real hardcore gamers are.

Whether they are getting paid to play ALL day then sleep under the computer desk at the sweatshop (goldfarmers) or couples play so long at gaming parlors down the street that their kids die at home, or its the most heavily rated national events on prime time television involving gaming,THATS "hardcore". (too nutso for my tastes)

The funniest thing in these United States is how a company can sell an image to people and just by buying gear with "hardcore" names (the professional grade "ViperAK9 controller!", the all new "RazzorNX2000 video card!"), games with "hardcore" titles (WARHAMMER.. WAUGGGGGH all the time, RAWR!!!), or T-shirts with "hardcore" sayings ("Eat.Sleep.PVP!"), the player is instantly transformed in his/her mind into a "hardcore" player, no skill required. All you need to call yourself a "hardcore" gamer over here is a dollar and a dream. (btw: just because you can build your own computer from spare parts from NewEgg.com does NOT automatically qualify you to be a "hardcore" gamer either, or Bill Gates and Steve Jobs would be #1 and #2 ranked)

Can the 99% of you out there stop calling yourselves "hardcore" and stop constantly DELUDING yourself please? Someone playing WoW doesn't make them 'soft" by default and you playing some hyped up nonsense doesn't make you "hard" simply cause you pay $15 a month to it.

For the record, I'm glad to be considered a "casual" player, tyvm.

I find it scary to see people taking a game this seriously if its not really a competition. The urge to beat some gamescripts as fast as possible without serious competition is just too weird. WIth fast I mean not within as few hours as possible, but as fast as possible after release. Which means total social life shutdown. And that to beat a gamescript! (aka raid).

If they would be able to win a monthly in Guild Wars, then I would be impressed, because there at least is a known and good competition. You also need more then a zombie zerg for that.

They all got to level80 AND cleared ALL the RAID encounters of WOTLK in just 3 days?

HAHAHAHA

A multi-billion dollar company like Blizzard needed two whole years of development on this expansion pack and the hardcore crowd finishes it in 3 days

Way to go Blizzard!

On a more serious note: I think Blizzard mistuned the whole RAID content Big Time!

Or more worrisome: They trully have lost all their good employees and don't have the expertise inhouse anymore to create decent RAID encounters.

Cheers

I disagree, design of WotLK canot be judged by taking the accomplishments of the 2 most hardcore rading guilds curretnly in the game as the only means of scale.

Yes but the scale and in the speed in which they did is is ridicules, hard-core gamers they are which I'll agree. But capping level in three days should have been unheard of even for the most fanatical of gamers....let alone clear an entire end-game instance....these hardcore players are still human beings and they put on their pants one leg at a time like you and me you know...

So - if I find 24-40 friends that played through beta and play with them for 70-100 hours I can beat the game, get the best loot and I'm hardcore?  But if I solo everything and it takes me 120 hours just to hit 80 and I don't get any decent loot no matter how long I play then I'm casual?

In the past: UO, DAoC, SWG, WOW, EQ2, EVE, VG, LOTRO, TR, Mythos, AoC & WAR

Current: N/A :(

Well, this is what happens when you put the raid dungeons on the PTR months before release. After that it's just a matter of who got the most time to play the game. Plain and Simple!!

AND, when they let everyone play the so called beta.

Positive = less bugs, Negative = Game already old at release.
