WAR (Warhammer Online)

Ok i went out half an hour ago to buy WAR, i came back and now its installing, but from all the hate i read on these forums its like WAR is either shut down or about to any minute, im so concerned with what ive read on here i sent mythic an email about 2 minutes ago.

No, WAR is not shutting down, not even close right now.  I imagine WAR will be around for at least 3 years from today...maybe even longer

mmorpg is not a good place to read about games, it's mostly hate or fanbois you dont really get just the honest truth, you tend to get one extreme or the other.  A decent WAR community with much better message boards when it come's to asking actual questions is warhammer alliance.  http://www.warhammeralliance.com/

I'm pretty damn sure WAR isn't shutting down, for one PC Gamer just did a massive magazine over the game, also I just got a newsletter email from them talking about the new classes coming in, so its definatly not shutting down.

Don't worry, pick a busy server and have fun :D

The support in Europe is so bad, that only the currently fully populated servers seem able to survive. That's more or less the case with WAR, unless I'm missing something.

Mythic have invested far to much in WAR to close it down, things are not that grim, at least not for now.

Still, chose a good server to play at.

Mythic can still turn the game around, the half million players Motormouth Barnett talked about is maybe not something I would bet on, but the game will go even at 250K players and anything over that is good.

Just relax, they will only kill it if EA decide that it ain't selling enough, like they did to SIMS online.

First things first, Never EVER! listen to the riff raff on these forums EVER!!!

These guys go out of there way to make a game seem as shitty as possible to sway players away.

Some even make it a job (Viral marketers).

WAR is a good mmo, try it out play it through Your first 30 days and sub if you like it.

Don't ever take forum reviews seriously, If anything take magazine and official game reviews seriously and war has mostly been rated in the low 90s.

WAR is one of the the best mmos atm and nowwhere close to shut down.

Nope no rumours just was paranoid from all the haters on these forums lol

And there I was, thinking that everybody would have understood by now that reading this forums is informative rather then in any way indicative of the state of any partiular game.

WAR has some issues, but the main problem around here is:

a) people who are bored and just bash games for the fun of it (or similar), many of which never played past lvl 20 or rushed so quickly through the game that they had no one to play with...

b) people who expected WAR to be something different than what it turned out to be - instead of moving on, they hang around and let everyone know how disappointed they are (gets old really quickly tho, and no one really cares)

c) people who can't distinguish between their own opinions and cold hard facts and generally lack the ability to have a civilized discussion and respect other peoples opinion

Anyhow, I am pretty sure that WAR is doing reasonably well. Not WOW-well, but enogh-people-to-play-with well.

I myself have no active subscription any longer - mostly because the people I played with have moved to another game and WAR defenitly requires a nice group of people to play with in order to be really enjoyable.
