As we explained previously, we have been testing a character transfer system to allow characters to be moved from low population servers to ones with a medium population level. We are delighted to announce that this service is now live.

At this time players on English servers have the following options - note that this list has changed a little since it was first announced in order to give players on RP servers more options.

Core Roleplay Servers:
Players on Makaisson can transfer to Burlok or to Alarielle (Open RvR RP server)

Open RvR Roleplay Servers:
Players on Ellyrion can transfer to Alarielle or to Burlok (Core RP server)

Core Servers:
Players on the following servers can choose to transfer to either Karak Izor or Karak Norn:
Karak Ungor
Karak-Vlag
Karaz-a-Karak
Tor Anroc
Yvresse
Zhufbar
Worlds Edge Mountains

Open RvR Servers:
Players on the following servers can choose to transfer to Dragonback Mountains:
Clar Karond
Mount Silverspear
Sea of Dreams
Tiranoc
Finuval Plain

Now can you take it a step further:  Condense all NA core servers to ONE core server.  (do the same for the other regions and other server types if you like).

Really put the MASSIVE in MMORPG.  Im tired of playing with the crickets and tumbleweed.

This is good news!

Apparantly, this was all that was needed to fix the population problems and keep people from quitting, no?

Stay tuned, same bat time, same bat channel.

A true story:

Mythic Community Coordinator: "I'll reiterate this again; Hundreds of players will still be able to participate in Fortress sieges. Most sieges that we've seen in the last 3 weeks have not exceeded the cap we have implemented. Now go destroy each other (in game) and tell us how it was!"

Warhammer Forum poster: "So if most sieges you have seen haven't exceeded the cap and they are crashing then wtf is the point of this fix?"

My dog ate your homework.

Thank god!

Though it might well be too little too late..

We'll see if this will slow down the downward trend enough for the 1.06 and 1.1 returnees to make a real difference.

Imo WAR EU can be saved if two conditions are met:

1) This vicious circle gets checked (people not playing because not enough people are playing) with server transfers and/or merges

2) 1.1 finally puts a stop to scenario menace and introduces open RvR content and rewards that would draw casuals in as well as give rewards for keep holding rather than taking.

Things will get better now. For EU now these are the most populated servers.

Burlok

Eltharion

Karak Eight Peaks

Axe Bite Pass

Alarielle

Karak Azgel

Karak Him

Karak norn

For all the idiots crying doom and gloom must realize that Warhammer opened with 50 servers. Even Game like WOW can't fill up 50 servers and keep them at HIGH/HIGH all the time. So ofcourse there will be population imbalance. But after transfers these are the servers to look forward to as this is where most of the population will concentrate. Burlok, Eltharion, Alarielle and Karak Eight Peaks being the top choice for all players.

So if after this you roll on any other server and come here QQ about the low population its your fault.

The problem with transfers is that moving to a server is limited. In my case I had 4 options and havent notice any difference since I transfer. None of the servers you mention were available for me.

Too late for me I'm afraid. Server merges were badly needed in both US and EU. US got them just a tad late but not too late to start a vicious circle of people leaving due to underpopulation issues. EU however got them at least one month later.

I remember the time when the US were startin to merge. The EU didn't even have a set day that would announce the time when the merges will happen, let alone the merges themselves. So, it was either a choice of quitting or rerolling to a more populated server. If I wasn't in T4 I might have rerolled. Given however the uncertainty of the whole thing, I figured that they would take them at least a month to initiate transfers, a month that I would be boring myself to death. So I quit.

In my opinion, WAR is a good game plagued with the marketing department calling the shots and killing the subscriptions in the process. It was a pure marketing decision to start with more servers than they needed and a small server cap, so the population would be spread all over the place. The end result was plenty of servers at the edge of being viable. Some of them grew more and are now the populated onces. The rest lost people and entered the vicious circle of losing people because there were not enough people around. Bottom line, they sliced their own subscription base in a portion of what it could have been so as to present WoW-like server numbers.

Too bad because it was a good game. I game I could have still playing if it wasn't for the dead servers and the insane amount of time it took them to get their act together and start the merges.
