Let me in all modesty remind you that this thread was intended to be a discussion about how MMORPG keep flashing a WAR users score of 8.57 when pretty much everybody are aware of that this score is totally off the reality. WAR did not work out quite as well as we all hoped for, the only problem is that the user rating was developed when we all hoped. If users today were to vote, after we realized the major flaws, the score would have been fare much more correct. Why is this important? 1. We want any review to be as correct as possible. This is a particularly important point for MMO's that live their own dynamic life. 2. MMORPG would not have suckered new players into beliving WAR is flawless, which equivalents into scamming people to buy a product that is quite different from how you describe it. 3. If the user rating was more dynamic (like one user rating pr quarter), the rating would have pressed the developer along and they would have had to pay more attention to us users also post launch. Back on topic please. Comments?
Once again, you take your subjective opinion as reality and make it the core of your argument. I find the score to be completely appropriate for the game. Others have stated the same. I've tried or played many MMORPG titles, yet the only one of the bunch I currently find worthy of my time and mine is WAR. Why are you so obsessed in your opinion that other, reasonable people could not possibly enjoy this game or consider it one of the best current titles on the market? Obviously, the only way for a review to "be correct" is for it to agree with your own views. Write a review, stick a number on it and publish it on a free web hosting site. Pat your self on the back for producing the only correct and accurate review of WAR on the web and be done with it.

Seems pretty stupid to change everything just because some have a particular fascination with seeing a game fail. Leave a comment in the rating section like everyone else does in every other game on this site. It will average out over time. The whole thing is getting bizarre. If the game is so crap then it is absolutely no threat to your game of choice! |

Let's look at the other entries into the MMORPG market that we've seen over the past year : Tabula Rasa, Vanguard, Gods and Heroes. WAR has done something that the MMORPG industry hasn't seen since LotRO - release a game that people can and actually want to play. You can argue about the numbers of players and status of servers, but Mythic has always said they wanted to make a decent game, not a WoW-killer. And making a decent game is regretfully rare in this industry. As for the site rating of the game, the OP does know that people can EDIT their ratings, correct? If that many people feel that WAR was that horrible they would change their ratings. A bad game would incite people to change their ratings, looks like one might just have to accept WAR isn't a bad game. But no one puts much weight into the ratings on the site anyway, we all know a focused group of followers can do whatever they want, look what happens with EVE online during the annual voting lol The ratings don't really tell you which game is better than any other, the only information you can get is a warning if a game is truly wretched. |

Back on topic please. Comments? AoC did not get a reset from hype to release, if it had its rating would be lower than it currently is? Would you be willing to have AoCs rating reset too I wonder. I still say based on the tone of your OP that you are more interesting in attacking WAR than in fairness of rating.
Ehhh, you are confused. AoC rating has been low. Was like 6.2 or something like 3 months back. Now it is somethinge like 7.2. If AoC rating was reset now it would show +8 I guess. Many people fall in love with that game again. |

Given how good WAR is, it's no wonder it has such a high rating despite it still being fresh out of launch. It's probably why the game is such a roaring success, and there simply aren't enough haters voting 1 to compete with the fanbois voting 10. |
