I write this after a month or more of predictable game play on WAR. Since I have rolled a character on WAR this is what I do everyday, quest until I have completed them all in the zone as I wait for scenarios to pop to PvP. I wonder the world with litte to do on my own for no one is in Open RvR areas, everyone is doing scenarios. This sounds alot like WoW, all pvper's do is battlegrounds and arena. With WAR not haveing a PvE side to the game at all only takes one aspect away from MMORPG that I enjoyed to do when your guild is active but the other faction isn't. As I have said enough about a couple of my dissappoinments, I would like to look at how Mythic put out a game that they didn't finish. Only two capital cities are even in place when there is suppose to be 6, at least four classes didn't come out when the game did even though we heard alot about them and many of us wanted to play them. Now that they didn't release those they try to intice us by telling us a little bit of what they are doing. Sorry but I want to see results. This game honestly feels like it should be a fantasy first person shooter where we just respawn in the same scenario for there isn't much else to do in the game. What could've been done?? Not that I am an expert, but I have played WoW long enough to hear alot of players say what they would like to see in the next MMO and WAR didn't do any of it. Mounted combat? Three sided faction playing? Cinematic storyline instances? Not to mention the graphics coulda lived up to what they said they were going to be. With the way zoneing was done, flying, visual effects, I must say this feels like a step back from WoW. |

Great first post. If you wanna play WoW go play WoW. Does WAR need some things? yes! But it is a much more complete game than WoW now. WAR has been out a couple of months. WoW has been out years. |

Nice first post btw, did you really need an alt to say this or are you another disappointed fanboi and dont want to admit it? |

Epic thread failure by a first poster. Rehash of points that have been brought up countless times already and certainly didn't need to be brought up again. The completeness of the launch is rarely a concern, the scenario issue certainly is. Most of the new ideas you liste have already been done in other games, like DAOC, LotRO etc.

I was not trying to compare to WoW, but WoW has set the standard for what many look for in a MMORPG now days. I can compare this to other games, such as graphics on WAR are bad, in Tabula Rasa I thought the graphics were awesome. Only one problem now I am compareing a strictly PvE game vs. a strictly PvP game, oops sorry RvR. To answer the other question no, this is my first post and have not trolled forums in a many days. I am just looking for a MMORPG that adds more to the genre of MMO's and not just focused on one aspect like makeing a really good PvP system but screw everything else. |

I think this post should just read. "Warhammer Failed" I don't think anyone can argue this. Their server population is half of what it was 30 days ago. Obviously masses of people are disappointed. I had two WHOLE guilds bail out befor me, 3 of my close friends here in Maryland bought this game on my advise. I feel like I owe them 50 bucks. Some people may like the game in its current state, but I think the numbers would show that your in the minority here. Servers are being merged together, There are few and far between servers with a decent population. |

Timeline is under consideration when comparing a game, but the life time of a game is alot bigger imo. According to alot of people they want another DAoC or UO, those are steps back in time. |

This game is so dependent on population. Far far too many servers and they need to be MERGED and SOON. I find my time in WAR is limited only because I run out of things to do. Nobody is in PQs. Nobody is doing openRvR, even scenario queue times are very long. Case in point, for two days now, been signed up to queue the entire time online and not one time did a match come up. This PvP game has become a PvE game for those without a group or not at the top tier. They need to consolidate servers. The core people who stuck with this game are now PvPing at the top tier and there's not enough new players coming to the game & spread over way too many servers that is causing (at least from my observation on two servers) T1 & T2 to be ghost towns. Also, to my recent realization, WAR does not feel like a world to me. It feels like more a collection of maps. Even with the IP, I don't feel like this is Warhammer. Rather than make a more natural world, the developers disney-tised the place with too many scattered PQs that are nothing but static drive-thru adventures. These should have come more later in the game and should have been used with the intention to give high level players something to do along with openRvR and scenarios. What's the point of scenarios, really? Maybe as an end-game component, perhaps a combination of raid/PvP. But openRvR and PQs could have served enough PvP-centric content and it could all be in world. PQs could be retooled to either be what they are now as well as smaller areas of conflict between both sides (maybe this is the case at higher levels...dunno...not there yet) Anyway, I would have made the first and middle parts of this game more PvE with a more believeable and fleshed out world. This would have attracted more players to the game and kept them around as they would have had something to do when the people required for PvP aren't around. WAR is an online RP-based combat game to me. It does not have a real virtual world feeling and that's sad considering the IP. The developers wanted to instill a constant sense of war but assumed there would be enough players to support this type of environment. They were wrong. They should have focused on more world and less war. We'll see what happens. I'm staying subscribed. |
