I like Theme Parks, you can get cotton candy, go see an attraction, and all the rides are designed so you don't die.

I like both, because after I leave Disneyland I want to be able to do whatever I want, be it kick it in the pool, head down to the "Lost Bar" and grab some expensive drinks, do some shopping in Down Town Disney.  xD

Life, left untouched, rewards. Death, left untouched, kills

.. It's funny.. the majority is "Sandbox" but in actuality..

It's themepark (just look at the subs folks)..

Stop Unjust bannings! Don't report this kind of stuff

"And that''s the way the cookie crumbles"

I think too extreme of a sandbox would fail and too extreme of a theme park would fail.

You have to find a good balance of both.

Yeah, no one wants to play Second Life.

I don't mind either personally. If it's a good quality game with beautiful art/graphics design , good game play and a nice community then I could go either way.

"Easy" only equals "better" for crack addicts and MMORPG developers.

/Agreed! There is no reason why in todays MMOs there cannot be a hybrid of games in one. A person who just wants to be free to hunt for exp shouldn't get less exp than the person that follows the quests/storylines. And no reason why a pvp/pve community couldn't be formed to play together on same servers. Kinda like civilians n army.  But I guess in reality, it wouldn't follow the WoW model so any game that is not is destined to fail....

I want a themepark inside a sandbox.

All kidding aside, that's the way you should design your sandbox. There should be a meta game taht players can engage in, if they want to. But themepark players should have fun, and not even realize there is a meta game if they dont' want to delve into it.
