Hi everyone ; Suspended my account about 20 days ago because of RL stuff and realized that i ve missed some minor and major patches about oRvR and many other issue in these 20 days. In Mmorpg's game list WAR stands as the best mmorpg in the market and i wanted to ask is it because of the new patches and tweaks about the game or the list is a lie.. And of course if its not what do u recommend me to play ( not kidding )..Read lots of positive things on AoC forum ( which is weird ) and all these comments doesnt realy help.. Thank you for ur time..

You can either agree with me or be wrong! |
Hmm...
1. That rating is mostly based on what people thought of the game before it released. 2. If you actually played the game already I wouldn't expect it to be *that* much different now than from how you played it, it's still very much the same game with only minor changes so far. (least relative changes in comparison to changes that would change a game from bad to mediocre to greatness at least) |

I live and breath PVP in games. Not worth my while fighting computers |
Originally posted by Aaabii I have enjoyed my time in WAR and so have many others, that being said many despise it for multiple reasons. The only question here is did you enjoy it before you left? If so grab another month and check it out. If not try something else, not much has changed overally but they are correcting alot of minor things, and with the upcoming patch in Dec, looks like some major changes. Just go with what your last feelings were when you left decide. For another game to try, Guild wars is always fun, and just a one time fee. I really enjoy the combat mechanics of that game. WoW is a great game, if you haven't already played it. Maybe sway to some f2p for a change. Perfect World is fairly decent as well. Give that a shot. If your into planes though try ACE online, that game is pretty sweet check the site its on here. Good Luck with w/e you decide |

As a resident fanboi... yes, it does deserve the rating. While it does have its flaws and some of them are serious it is, nevertheless, the best big old mmo out there at the moment. While some other games may be better in some categories overall it is the best package (while the gfx is not as good as AoC it can deal with pretty huge numbers of players on screen, there aren't as many instances as in WoW but those that are there are really great (i'm not counting those mini-dungeons in altdorf, that's a case of misunderstanding if there was any.. why doesn't WoW have mini-instances that can be done in 20 minutes, huh?), etc). In addition it brought a nice whiff of fresh air with some very novel approaches to standard mmo mechanics, PQs and ToK are just the two most obvious ones. In addition healer and tank roles for PvP have been almost reinvented from scratch- awesome stuff there. That's my opinion so do with it what you will. I'm quite happy with WAR and will stick around it for a long time it seems. The changes that were applied so far and are announced right now seem to address real issues people are having with the game so I'm very optimistic about the future. (Unless EA does something stupid again). In the past 20 days there's been lots of technical tweaking mostly, work on client stability, general bug hunting. The big changes will come in 1.06 (that's class balancing patch) and 1.1 (open RvR content boost patch) both due before Christmass. So if you really weren't that happy with the game 20 days ago chances are you won't change your mind right now. If the above two concerns were crucial to you then wait till Christmass to see if they'll work or not. |

Not sure if I would classify it as the best since that is going to be subject to each player on a individual level. For me I am having more fun with this game than any of the other MMOGs out right now though so I would say it deserves the rating it has. |

Paid MMORPG subscriptions are the ONLY valid rating meters because people have to pay to vote." |
It may be the best New MMO out there. I still think WoW is a better game. |

WAR is pretty decent, but imo not great. That being said I think I"m only level 23, so perhaps it gets better later on. Yet, I just have no real desire to play the game and level up. Perhaps I'm burnt out on mmos, but the hook just isn't there for me. It's very shallow as far as anything beyond fighting. The quests are generic, and it's basically like playing a half-rate version of wow again. Don't get me wrong, it's certainly not bad, but pve questing / leveling could be much better. Of course, if you like pvp it's lots of fun to do battlegrounds while leveling, and does provide a nice respite from pve tedium. But bgs soon get boring, at least to me, and I wouldn't want to level primarily on bg instances. I've been open to RvR lakes, but they are usually quite unbalanced assuming that you can even find one that is populated. Of course now I'm behind so in T3 the RvR lakes are pretty dead as a general rule. I hope they will be better once I reach a higher level.
There's a lot of things that would make this game better for me, and it would take a bit of space to list them. In the end it's a filler game for me that I play at times but never have much motivation to log in. I'd like to get to 40 and play the end game, but I often wonder if it's worth the next 17 presumably tedious levels. |

Most players rated it 2-3 days after they bought it, or even during the open beta. Off course no one should really rate a game until they reach max level but it usually don't work this way. It is good, I rate it and AoC the same, I like both off them The game I would rate as best is probably Guildwars, or maybe EQ2 but that is off course my opinon. But it is clear that WARs rating is to high currently and are about the early levels. Hopefully it will really grow into that number later... |

I agree with this game probably being the best new MMO out now. The game does have flaws and Mythic knows of them and are working on them. Like all MMOs, the game needs to be polished more.
