Age of Conan

     I tried AoC at release and to tell you the truth i really didnt like it that much.  I got a new computer 2 months ago and pretty much wasted my time playin WAR (which is not even close to all the hype).  I decided to come back to AoC to see if things were differant at all and to actually stress my quad 3.0 and 4870.  The only thing i can say is WOW!  This is by FAR the best looking MMO on the market and ive tried just about all of them.  Its really not even close how far this game is ahead graphically. 

     Im also getting zero lag spikes, have not run into any quest issues.  Casters are now viable options (my demo is really kicking butt).  Guild Keep are up and they are really cool.  I guess the bottom line is that this game is really made for newer gaming systems which sucks for peoples systems that are no longer up to par, but thats just how it is. 

     The community is also extremely friendly and helpful.  After playin war for 2 months its such a relief to come back to a game where people actually communicate and work together.  Anyone who played or plays WAR will agree that there is ZERO talk in any of the chat channels in that game.  If you tried AoC at release and didnt like i would definately recommend giving it a second try, expecially if youve upgraded your rig.....or will for christmas. 

Edit: Just to add to the appeal of this game.  I just issued a petition to a GM with a question i had.  Sure enough within 30min i was contacted, and its eve Thanksgiving lol

This is realy great news, i play at release and my free month with severel chars, played my demo to lvl 38 ( if i remember corectly ) but i didnt resubbed, there where to many isues and bugs at that time.

But maybe i should give it another go, i did actually have high hopes in front of thís game, so if you have a buddy key i would very much like to get back into AoC and experience those opgrades..

Did the digital download so no buddy key sorry.  From the server population reports ive seen i would definately recommend Set for the PvE server.  I love to PvP but FFA PvP never really interested me.  More of a chore to do anything then i would like.  And you can still PvP on the normal servers.  There are even PvP mini games

I could never have played this game for more than a day on a PvE server. true I did get sick of the FFA zerg fest eventually. but that is mainly the end game pvp (kheshetta), pvp during questing/leveling up makes it soooo much more fun.

agree with op - this game is a blast - the free -feel of combat - the graphics are amazing - pvp is fun - great game

What?! AoC has good graphics?!!! STOP THE PRESSES!!!

Seriously, this is nothing new. We all know graphics is the main selling point of AoC and I'm happy you enjoy them. However for most of gamers out there, pretty pictures is not enough to keep interested in an MMO. If we want good graphics there are many good single player games out there (I'm not talking about Tortage btw). MMO's need more than that.

Most people prefer good gameplay and fun. Imo AoC fails big time in these both categories which is why I recently cancelled my subscription. I just wish they had concentrated less on polishing grahics and actually given us some fun endgame content.

Yea, I know I've been busy

I wrote most of my posts yesterday and the day before that. I had a couple of days off and spent most of my time in front of a computer doing random stuff and designing my own crappy MMO . 50 posts is easy to write when you have the whole day to do it.

I can't "get back to gaming" since I'm not playing anything at the moment. I have just been trying out new games.

I also write in Darkfall and Chronicles of Spellborn forums.  I'm going to try out those two once they launch.

I'm glad to hear it. If I see a few more people saying that the game has improved, I may jump back in here in a couple of months.

Have they added more content to get you all the way to end game without lulls?

I just started again.  Level 10 demo now.  Yes i believe its called Ymirs pass.  Will have to wait for a better response im sure lol.
