I'm sort of obssessed with the idea of being rich (In mmo's ;) ). So i am just wondering if i decided to solo play (for the most part) would i be able to crazy ammounts of coin? If so how would i achieve this? Please leave your comments on everything to do with getting rich in LOTR.
Thanks. |

Well, sure I suppose. Though I believe you would make more money with one of the crafting professions. I couldn't begin to tell you what makes the most. I do the prospecting and sell ingots for extra cash. However, from what I've seen, though money can help, this doesn't seem to be a hard game to make money in. |

For now, the best way to make money is to be one of the first to get to the end of the Moria content and sell ultra rare legendary equipment and tier 6 ore. But, of course, once more of the population reaches the end of the Moria content, there will be more and more competition and reduced selling prices. If you're just starting LotRO the best way to make cash is prospecting and getting to T6 grandmastery in jeweller, armorsmith and/or weaponsmith. |

I always made good money on ore. I wasn't stinking rich, but rich enough to maintain a fleet of alts in really good gear. No problems buying horses when needed. |

| I remember back in 1999, folks kept asking me if I was stockpiling food. I always answered, "No, I'm stockpiling ammo and making a list of people who are stockpiling food" |

my favorite way is to farm humanoid mobs when and keep and sell everything. Combine that with exploreer professionand farm every ore node you see. |

Yeah you can, but 1) there is little need since the quests give all the gear you ever need, and 2) there really is little useful to spent it on. But technically you will carry tons and tons of gold. I just have no idea what to spent it for. |

Ofc. you can become rich, most things that generate gold you do solo anyways, such as crafting, collecting items for crafting. You can go hunt regular mobs aswell, atm moria reputation items and the legendary weapons sell quite nicely, i know people on our server who regularly vist the auction hall and buy any legendary item with a buyout lower than 150 silver, so that they get the rare runes. Just make sure you know what your loot is worth, look up the prices of stuff before selling to npcs.
Another question is what you like to do with your gold. When you got the equipment you like, there are not many things left to spend your gold for.

As others have said there are lots of ways to make gold in this game. I found that doing the deeds such as killing X mobs to get a trait works well. you have to pick up everything that drops. When your inventory is full you then goto a vendor and sell all the trash drops and put the stuff you want to keep in storage. Now all mobs drop some coin. The humaniod mobs drop the most out of all of them. that would be any two legged walking mobs. They also drop your recipes for crafting wich will sell real well also. As stated getting the money is easy having stuff to spend it on is another story. Housing, crafting are the two i can think of that will be a regular drain on your money in this game. Along with fast travel using the stables before you get a horse. |

Take the explorer vocation, and just sell refined materials. |
