I wan't to try the expansion but they got it locked right now. I am currently playing wow but thinking of jumping into lotr with a friend but I gota concern thats a big issue to me. Combat.. I heard it was really slow in LOTR. I heard on average it takes twice as long to kill a mob than it does in wow. I heard that overall the combat is kind of weak and that the mob AI was kinda dumb. How true is this? |

I currently play Lotro, and though the combat seems slow its more tactical then wow. I played wow for all of month and a half had a 60 Tankadin. The combat there is fast yes but other then making sure to hit your hate skills theres nothing to it honestly. but thats MHO, Its a matter of taste. |

I dont find it slow at all, I think that it must be in lotro more then other mmo's that you really need to know and work your combo's to succeed so no it doesnt seem slow to me at all ecspecially after about level mabye 20 or 25 |

pick a class, Champions, wardens, hunters kill pretty fast so does the lore master atmid to high levels. Guardians and minstrels kill pretty slow. Burglers are kinda middle of the road in my opinion but can kill pretty quick also. Not sure about Captains and Rune keepers since I have never played either one. Just my opinion of course |

Champ and Hunter rip shit apart really fast. They were my favorite classes when I played.... ..odd...I can't remember why I quit...maybe it's time to re-install... |

Well i dont think combat it really slower than wow. Maibe a litlle but not as much as people say. You may want to try the trial to see for yourself. You cannot try it on U.S server for now because turbine as remove the trial but you still can try it on Euro server and it work i have tried it. Gaurdian is the slowest, and really the only slow class. I like it that way and makes my battles engaging . |

I think the reason people are saying LotrOs combat is slow is because you dont have any "instant" skills like in WoW, most skills are on next stroke which you need to get used to. The actual time it takes to kill a mob is probably similar in WoW and LotrO and in my opinion there is less downtime between fights in LotrO. |

Minstrel was pretty quick before Moria, faster than Guardian but still slower than most classes. Since Moria we get a hell of a resist rate so our playstyle is pretty f'ed up at the moment due to the way a Minnie tiers up his damage songs. Patch 1 tomorrow though, hopefully the resist rate wil be back to what it was for us. back to topic though is what I find really cool about LoTRO is how each class plays so differently and each has it's own uniqueway of playing. Even though Champs and Hunters bot as a poster put it " rip shit apart" they require completely different stategies. My LM can juggle 3 oranges on a good day, but one wrong keystroke or one too many resists and I am toast, whereas a Guardian can sit there and pound away with all three pounding on him and walk away the winner. My minnie uses fear and heals himself through a fight, takes a while because our average DPS is not all that but we use our heals like Guardians use their armor to stay alive.
