Another WAR myth.  I am at renoun rank 40, almost 41.  One squig herder on our realm is well past RR 50.

Maybe if some of you stopped talking about the game and started playing it, you would have a clue what you are talking about.

I'm renown rank 48 and I have friends who are renown rank 60+ on KEP :)

They play all day and all night, it takes a veeeery long time to get to RR80, and I'm playing 3 chars at the same time so I doubt I'll get there unless I manage to settle down on one and not play the others (hard when my alts are ridiculously fun classes like ironbreaker and bright wizard :D)

If you really think that the population issues are related to these two expacs, I think you're quite misled.  WAR's population was in recession long before LK came around -- it has to do with the core design of the game.  It appeals to a core of people, clearly, so the game isn't going to die or anything like that.  But it's a niche game in appeal, while being a game that was intended to be a blockbuster (based on copies shipped to retailers and servers opened at release).  The idea that flocks of people will come storming back after they are done with LK is wishful thinking -- it basically never happens in MMORPGs.  WAR had its chance, and lost it in terms of being a mass appeal game to compare with WoW.  It will still be a success in its own right, but a much smaller game than it was intended to be, because Mythic underachieved with the design.

The big mistake Mythic made was underestimating the ADHD of the 23-33 going on 13 fotm WoW players who tried the WAR fotm.  Pandering to them will ruin your MMO every time.  The ultimate in MMO gaming for them is the WoW arena.  Mythic wrongly assumed that player behavior on live would mimmick what it was on Beta.  For the first few weeks, many played WAR as if it were or should be WoW.  Most quit in frustration.  Good riddance to them.

The design is fine, it just needs tweaking. If WAR had been in Beta for another year, it would not have helped much.  Mythic did not understand just how messed up the WoW community or lack therof really is and the negative influence WoW has had on MMO gaming.    It will take time for many MMO gamers to learn or relearn what MMO gaming really is.  No, it is not eSport and the arena.

I like to think of WoW as an asuylum for the MMO equivalent of the criminally insane.  WAR is the cure but they have to want to get better.

So catering to people who play WOW was a mistake?  Seeing as WOW is up about 35% in the past month and Warhammer is down about 30% in the same time frame.. I think Warhammer should be trying to be more like WOW.

WOW has launched 27 new servers in the past 3 weeks.  Warhammer has 60% of it's servers on 'lifeboat' status.  You can transfer off them for free, and players can't create characters on those servers.   Servers that they were orginally trying to save (offering transfers to) are now on the lifeboat list.  Every week more and more servers are being added to the 'abandon' list, while in WOW, every week they have to launch more servers because they have so many in queue.

It's funny you call wow players 'criminally insane', yet the game you play is by far the minority and dying quickly and argue against everything that reality is showing you.  Only an insane person would stick with a far inferior game with drastically lower players and claim the 'masses' are insane.

Can't wait to see that 'december' patch... LOL.      The new classes will get thrown into the game exactly the way they were in July when they were 'not fun enough'... but hey, desperate times deserver deperate measures.   Welcome to your nrew friends, AOC and TR.

If there are people like you running around then I do believe there is something wrong with people in general.  WoW is up cause of a pathetic expansion which barely added any real content, just the same thing over and over for 10 more level Yay ... The server problem of War was mainly having too many on release and people spread out too much, that is why they are being transfered not simple cause people quit.

I have resubbed to WAR but barely play it. Low server pops and being low level kills the game for me.

I spend more time playing Mount & Blade and Fallout 3. As soon as I hear WAR talk about server merges, I will come back and actively play. I have faith in this game but their PvE sucks and nothing else to do when nobody else is around.

To the idiot you says I don't know PVP.  Ultima Online Vet 1997-98 here, this is the best PVP since that game.

Cross server Q's would still be able to count towards your RVR pts.  I heard about this, I'm sorry if i'm wrong...didn't want to mislead people but I heard they will do this and it won't affect gameplay. Its only to keep the Q times low.

I had people in my guild that went back to WOW and LOTRO to try out the new expansions.  I know very well that those games impacted this game.  However, they also told me they will return after they are done with the new content in 1 month.  PVP is constant changing content, no killing the same end boss over and over and over.

I see no reason why this game will not continue to grow and improve.
