...The first day of December, and you're already bitching about the fact that Aventurine hasn't released a specific date.  Come December 10th, then start complaining.  1:00AM December 1st is pathetic, and ridiculous.  Get lives.

Hehe, I am not sure man about 100% of the MMOs released today have at least pre-order boxs ready to purchase by now. Also most companies have a specific release date posted at gamestop up to 8 months before release. IMO because adventurine is such a small company there are extremely sloppy. If there this sloppy with the release, I cant imagin how there patch's are gonna be. I Hope to god im wrong though this MMO seems to be sick ((if it releases in a stable fashion)).

      1.    Wrath of the Lich-King was just released.   Of the many millions of people who purchased that expansion, I daresay none of them have finished the new content, have become bored with the game and are looking for a new MMO to entertain them.

      2.    Mines of Moria expansion to LotRO was just released.  Of the many hundred of thousands who purchased that expansion, I daresay none of them have finished the new content, have become bored with the game and are looking for a new MMO to entertain them.

      3.     WAR was recently released, and despite the protestations of some of the playerbase,  I daresay that most of the players who enjoy that game, have not yet become bored with the game and are looking for a new MMO to entertain them.

So, if you are seeking to make money off of Darkfall, would you release now, when the vast bulk of your POTENTIAL market has settled into their winter diversion?   Or, would you rather wait until (perhaps) Spring, when a greater number of the aforementioned people may be looking for a new outlet for their monthly subscription fee?

Hi there. I had to reply to your post.. Cause.. I wasted my time reading it.

If you havent been following darkfall, like the rest of us, that's fine. It sort of makes sense.. I mean, what is there to follow? a few screen shots here and there, and a a few "videos" but that's about all.. and to reply to the rest..

1. Wrath WAS just released.. and the market share that is Darkfall doesn't overlap with the market share that is WoW.

2. Same for LOTRO

3. War.. might have managed to grab a small segment of the DF population (or would be darkfall pop).. but WAR dropped the ball by making an instanced PvP game.  Might as well as had a lobby with a chat room..

And to respond to your last statement... Well.. really no point because your prior 3 statements are all wrong.

actually they werent wrong u just refuse to believe that someone who plays wow could move to df when that is very possible. i think it would be smart of them to delay till next year when ppl are looking for a new game to play after getting finished with their xpac they bought

At this point, I hope they never release Darkfall.  All of these threads are entertaining to read, and I want them to continue.

The question now is - what will take down Darkfall as the next controversial MMO?

If DF fails to deliever thats easy it will be Mortal Online.

If DF pleases everyone then the forum war will be dead.

OMG, you have no idea what insane things you will be able to read on a FFA full-loot  forum.

The flames, crying, RL threats and rivalry will exceed epic proportions. The forums can often be more amusing than the game sometimes.

I really don`t care if DF launch in Dec or sometimes early next year. I`m happy if it launch at all.

Grinding is the worst idea ever integrated into a game...

I would much rather have fun.

I will admit TCOS and Aion are not near the same magnitude as WoW or even LoTR. Adventurine has also lost all of my respect as well, so much so that I will not buy DF at release. It will take me a month to buy it as long as the reviews are decent. There is only 1 other company that I have 0 respect for and that is Funcom.

lol.
This'll sound stupid, but the companies I've lost respect for are NCSoft and SOE.
NCSoft because of the "generally respected" addition of heroes to Guild Wars...I personally think they ruined the game...But whatever.
And SOE because of what I've read about how they ignorantly handled SWG...That entire situation makes me sick to my stomach.

You disrespect SOE eh? LOL. It's funny because of the insane irony there. SOE has been providing numerous expansions for arguably one of the best mmo games ever in Everquest Online since it's launch back in 1998. And now, many other expansions as well with Everquest 2. Vanguard also hit a niche market and seems to have some very loyal followers, even if the number is small.

..Yet you spit on SOE, and bow down to the mighty Tasos and eat up his every word like its a religion and like Darkfall is somehow going to put what SOE has done with its Everquest games to shame.

Now we know why you aren't considered even close to being a "realist" here on these threads, don't we? Hehe.

I apologize for not listing Aventurine on the list of companies I've lost respect for.  However, I'm actually angered by your ridiculously stupid assumption that because it's not on the list, I'm a fanboy.

I really wish the moderators would remove the people who only spit on these forums, never adding to the discussion.  Maybe then we wouldn't be "graced" with your "reality" of the situation... {Mod Edit}

It's honestly like everyone logs onto WoW, and games like WoW, just to masturbate. Everyone plays by themselves, and when they don't, they get what they want and get off.

...Who just grabbed my ass?

I find it extremely funny that "early December" means December 1st at 4am for trolls and "realists".  I recall WAR having their open beta 2 weeks before release, if that. Do not forget that a game does not NEED you to be in their open beta, you are just used for a stress test.

Personally I don't think the game will be released in December.. more like Q1 2009 (giving them the benefit of the doubt for a December release).  The screenshots show areas that are completed, the games scenery looks polished, we have a 100% gameplay movie showing the combat system in play, we have an in-game movie showing the UI and a couple of other things, we have a review from the Italians, and we have another review coming from the publisher of a comic... I believe a December release is POSSIBLE.

This is being a "realist", I took the information we were given and gave a possibilty.. saying a game has been in development for 8 years as an argument and then saying it has no possible chance of release is not being "real", it's trolling... unless you've been working on the game for those years and know it's level of completion.

I find it funny that the doubters (realists etc.) Say ok we don't think DF will be out this year, and then some fanbois comes along and say 'hey i don't think it will come out this year either but you all are trolls and should shut up!"

Point out in this thread where anyone said early december was December 1st at 4 am? What you can't? i also haven't seen anyone in this thread say DF will never be released. So you were just making up more crap to base you fan arguement on way to go pro!

K, I'll point it out.  It would be the fact this thread was made >>>DECEMBER 1st at 4AM<<< asking for new information, way to use common sense, pro.

I'd also like you to point out where in my post history I've backed Darkfall to the point where I looked like a "fanboy", way to make up more crap to base your weak flame.

We asked the question "hey if Df isn't gonna be out in the next 30 days should Tasos know by now and shoudln't he say something if so?"

So if you understand December 1st is not early December than why are you expecting more information, again on December 1st, at 4am.

The typical fanbois responses here seem to be as seen that anyone that has that question is a troll, oh and that if DF does release in December some disaster is gonna happen to us, and that we must really be burning up.

Well if you were a "realist" you would be REAL and not expect information on the FIRST OF DECEMBER so of course you'll be labeled a troll for doing this nonsense.  If you really expected some information this early in the month and had no intention of trolling.. something is seriously wrong with you.

It then ends on a oh we don't have any logical arguement and  this thread should be locked bcause it asks uncomfortable questions that we don't like. Seems to me the fans that are putting the words in our mouths and making up things they think are in this thread are the ones burning up. Look Tasos has promised not once but many times DF would be released this year, and every fans says Tasos never lies, so why don't you guys even believe Df will be released this year?

You don't have a logical argument.  For example, the argument I stated earlier was a very common one amongst trolls and "realists". I'll write it again to help you with your lack in reading comp.

"saying a game has been in development for 8 years as an argument and then saying it has no possible chance of release is not being "real", it's trolling"

Now if you were REAL, wouldn't you think that something in development for 8 years would have a possible chance of coming out from now and Q1 2009 especially with the recent reviews from closed beta participants? Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm looking a tad bit more real then you are.

Sorry guys it looks like your wrong, after all of your "DF will be out this year 2008" posts you are now attacking left and right to try and cover for Tasos. Back in August the fans were spouting "Gee open beta will be in Oct and then the trolls will pay!" Then it became "it will be in November, and the trolls can't stand that it will finally be live next month!". Now its "Theres still plenty of time the trolls must be burning up teehee, and we never said DF will be o
