Keep it clean

But if the Big 12 is going to have a Championship game it should be a real Championship game, not just a chance for OU to show how strong they are. I know it's a bit of a whine, but do you really think the game will be anything other than a blow out?

You probably think I'm a Texas fan, I'm really not. I just think OU/UT would be a great game.

I get the N/S part.

I would love a rematch between OU and UT. Who ever lost could say nothing at that point. I think OU was not at their best in Dallas and right now they are playing imo the best in the country. A rematch would be great but would knock one great Big 12 team from the BCS.

I think everyone who doesn't have an allegiance to Texas is pretty much in consensus about how that game would turn out. A fan's loyalty can't be held against them though. It is adding insult to injury that they beat BOTH teams playing for the championship. LOL, how ironic is that?

One more shot, blah blah blah. You're going to the championship, stop looking backwards. Oklahoma and Florida should meet. Let the two best teams in the country play for it all. Texas was great this season, but not the best. They'll get over it. If I remember correctly, there's enough beer in Texas to drown their sorrows.

This is why I'm in favor of a playoff.  You can't say beyond a shadow of a doubt that Florida and Oklahoma are the two best teams in the country.  Granted, it's not going to work out too bad because Florida and Alabama play this weekend and that should determine who is the better of those two teams.  But how do we know that USC or Penn St couldn't beat one of those teams?  We don't, because they won't have an opportunity to play either one of them.  It's just like a couple years ago when USC beat Oklahoma in the BCS Championship.  They both finished the season undefeated, but so Auburn.  Yet Auburn got squeezed out of the championship game because their BCS rating was slightly below USC and OU.  And after the Tojans beat the Sooners, Bob Griese said (I'm paraphrasing, I don't remember the exact words), "I don't think there's anybody in the country who doubts that USC is the best team in the country this year, with all due respect to Auburn."

Well I doubted it.  USC may have been the best team in the country, but we don't know that for sure because Auburn never had a chance to play them.  Auburn had an awesome team that year, so did USC.  The only way to have settled the matter for sure would be to have a playoff.  That's why I'm in favor of it.

Dan Wetzel is one of the biggest sports writers touting a playoff as well.
