Next thing you know we're gonna have black presidents!

P. Diddy= No on any level....he's a doosh.

A person of color playing Bond= No

Now, as someone else said, if they want to make a new spy movie based on Bond, ie 006 or 008, then fine with me. Daniel Craig is doing a fine job playing Bond and he's my favorite one so far. I think P. Diddy trying to audition for a part that is filled by a great actor is lame.

Mainly because Bond MUST be Both English and be played by an english actor.

 

I dont mind so much tho if the next bond is of a colour other than white such as black or of Chinese origin.

Why English? Sean Connery is a Scot. Pierce Brosnan is Irish. Timothy Dalton is Welsh. George Lazenby isn't even British - he's Australian.  Most people who have played James Bond aren't English, it seems.   An English accent isn't so hard to immitate, is it? I have no idea if P. Diddy is a good actor, although I shouldn't think playing James Bond would be all that demanding.

Seriously, if having a black president is his excuse (a LAME excuse at that) then maybe we should have equality across the board and have a black hitler and a white martin luther king, oh oh, I know, lets have a chinese jesus and a mexican buddha! (represented by a fat little chihuahua wearing a sombrero and a mustache).

Doesn't sound so good now does it? Sorry, certain things cannot and should not change. 007 was written to be and look a certain way. It's etched in ink and paper, that cannot and should not change. If Diddy doesn't like it, too damn bad! make your own black  secret agent character then! Don't try to butcher an existing character.

Don't be silly.  James Bond doesn't "exist" in the real world, unlike Hitler and Martin Luther King, who are dead historical figures.  He's just a fictional character who's look has always been at the whim of a film director, at least as long as the films have existed.  Sean Connery came back and played the part as an older man.  I can't comment on your religious examples as their existence is a matter of opinion.  Having a non-white Bond wouldn't bother me a bit.  It wouldn't break the Bond "immersion" for me, either. 

In fact, if Sean Connery were to come back and play Bond as a 70-something year old, I'd probably love it!

Diddy always wanted to be the next 007 since before Obama got his name out there about presidental election. I remember him saying it on TV long ago during one of the preimers.

Jackcolt, I mean there has been many fictional characters that has had a change of color. I mean there's Iron Man (before the name War Machine right?), Cable, Green Lantern, Nick Fury, etc. Also there is a lot of movies out there that has (even true stroies) characters of the wrong shades. I'm saying I can See a Diddy James Bond, but I don't think he should be called James Bond. Maybe another agent.

Besides I do agree with you in a way. I think he's a funny asshole though. The type where you want to watch him but not be there to hear it. I can see him in the next 007 movie telling somebody to go get him some cheesecake. lol Even though he's that way, I CAN see him being one, based on his attitude, but I don't know how good he acting wise he is.

Kinda hard to think up a good black 007 actor. I loled when somonen said Chris Tucker. The day being 007 turns comedy.

All of you need to sit down and critically watch a James Bond movie...

You will realize that it isn't as good as you think, in fact, it's garbage.  Fun but garbage.  I don't think P.Diddy will make it any better or any worse - it'll still remain garbage.

Even the 1st James Bond movies were garbage and Sean Connery could do nothing to make them any better.

Pdiddy shouldnt be 007, the series should die and he has enough to start a new spy franchise... like splinter cell.... But reading these responses is interesting none the less,
