This thread is so full of useless drivel that it's pointless to even try to correct the trolls. Just stop feeding them guys. The OP is a troll, nothing more, nothing less. His entire post is based on incorrect assumptions about the game based on god knows what information. It's perfectly possible to play as a new player (my 13 year old just started 2 months ago and loves it). Anyone who can't handle EVE as a new player has not done the following:

1) Stayed in a new player corp
2) Used common sense. IE: Don't loot from other people's cans, etc.
3) Used common sense. IE: Don't fly around with hundreds of millions of isk worth of junk in a T1 hauler.
4) Used common sense. IE: Don't go into lowsec in a ship you can't afford to lose.

If you do those 4 things you will be FINE in EVE. There is absolutely no truth to the nonsense people spout about not being able to start out in EVE. As I said, my THIRTEEN year old daughter plays, enjoys the game, and does quite well. Sure I give her advice but anyone here is perfectly capable of logging onto a forum and asking for advice. Just because you can't be bothered to get basic information and learn basic things about the game doesn't make it a bad game.

Why I have tried to avoid Eve like the plague. The community is terrible when it comes to the "hierarchy" of things. Fighters think they're so much more "leet" than miners etc.

Then you may play the game But you clearly hang out with the wrong miners... Most "Carebears" think they are better than the gankers any day of the week...Not in combat but at the game of money ;p

If you say the fighters are the only cocky ones then your a troll or a Lier about playing the game more than the 14 day trial..

sorry, but you don't seem to be able to be consistent.

But really the thin skin is showing so much. I love the term carebear and have adopted it with gusto. Most of the hardcore PVPers i know have a 2nd account that funds thier PVP fun through carebear activities.

The game is built by the carebears.

0.0 is only active in pvp to protect the carebears.

Really you should grow up and learn to love your carebear, they need hugs too you know?

Inconsistent how?

I have never ever in the long list of MMOs I have played and thousands of hours I have racked up in them heard the term carebear except in Eve, so please go take that argument somewhere else as it's bull.

The rude and offensive nature of the posters in this thread further proves my point. It seems some of you lot are incapable of descent conversation instead resorting to the oh-so-original "troll" when someone says something you don't like.

WOW!  NEVER?  EVE is the only place you've ever heard the term carebear?

Just goes to show how experiences vary, I have heard the term in pretty much every game I've played, from the original EQ onward.

I'm not doubting what you say, but from my own experience I find your assertion incredible!

I hate to say it, but this game does shun new players.Getting into any decent corporation requires a minimum of 5m SP. Anyone new to the game will be stuck doing missions and training for a good half a year to a year before they can do anything 0.0 related.

Uhmm no! If you are in a Ratting/mining OP, you can get help from them in 0.0 mining or rating. I would say you can venture into 0.0 after 3 weeks.

This is how I see the game in general, I'm not going to go in to a lot of detail, the other posts above have:

1) Trust your corp

2) Participate and learn how to tackle early on for the sake of enjoying any pvp you might want to undertake on your first week out..

3) Watch local

4) Don't lose ships you can't replace

5) Specialize

6) Understand the game is not a race to 50 million SP.

7) Clone always

sorry; but the quoted is completely wrong.

eve university and quite a number of other corps take in players that are past the trial period and bring those players to nullsec.
