I'd consider it a building game that has castle sieges. you can build a forest, a garden, a house, another house, a garden in your house. castles, towns livestock...what game lets you grow livestock?!?! you can plant flowers, fruits, nuts...you can climbs a tree and pick its fruit!!!
the posibilities are almost endless |

ArcheAge will grow instead of decline. Of course, for some people, AA will simply be too much for them. We have an entire generation of WOW players who never played an MMO in their lifes, i expect lots of QQ of single player rpg players, but thats ok, it means the game is a true MMORPG.

Originally posted by Sebali i completely agree with this quote. seriously people you are so ignorant you dont even look at the videos or something, you see korean letters and say its anime style game etc.
there are 2 different human races and their capital towns of course. western human(nuian) has western style everything. eastern human race(hariharan) has an eastern style body and cities. they are enemy factions. Even the eastern style human race has half naked armor models for female. you may say the elf male and hariharan male looks gay i agree, whicl elf male doesn't :D |

The theme isn't asian it's clearly hybrid since they aim for both asian and western market. And it has something for everyone, pretty much all MMO features we've seen since EQ both themepark and sandbox, both PVE and PVP are all here...and then some. They are clearly aiming for the stars this game has EVERYTHING! I think it will be a success and it will most definatelly keep all the old school gamers and sandbox lovers busy for long time and snatch many of the more adventures WoW generation zombies too.
I care about your gaming 'problems' and teenage anxieties, just not today. |

I don't get my hopes up for big games anymore, but if it's what they claim it should be something worth checking out. "I am not in a server with Gankers...THEY ARE IN A SERVER WITH ME!!!" |

Originally posted by spaceport I dunno, it sounds good but games have sounded good in the past but been bad once we gotten them, and that goes double for Korean games... I will get hyped for it once I tried a little, before that I will keep an eye out for news but nothing more. So many people have said that that or this game is a true old school great MMO and so far once the games have gotten released they have at best been so so. |

Originally posted by Loke666 that games had NDA. archeage does not have it so you not only hear the features from developer but also see them yourself. i think it will do better than any other korean or any sandbox game in the west. it cant be a huge success though unless they open up wow type PVE servers |

I have learned my lesson that I can never really judge a game until I get my hands on the thing and play it. Yes AA has all the right parts and features that I'm looking for in a game. Yet that's not always enough, sometimes there are unforseen things that just leave a bad taste in your mouth. All I can say is I will be buying it when it comes out here and giving it a go. Then I will make my decision on whether or not I think it'll do well. It has potential but so did Aion, FFXIV, WAR, Vandguard, and a few others that I couldn't stick with. |

I feel arche age will grow similar to Eve, although on a larger scale.
Eve started off very small yet has continuously grown each year. I feel AA will start off with a around 500k-800k subs. aslong as the game lives up to its promise, and there is no reason to think it wont, i see it slowly gaining subs every year probably topping off around 1.2 million.
I think it will have a good retention value as the game offers players more than most every other game. what i mean by that is that the players are invested in more than just the gear they are wearing or the mount they are riding, such has WoW or Tor players. AA players will have houses, farms, lands, castles etc. I recall spending many a day in SWG having engaged in ZERO combat what so ever. I decorated my house, tended to my harvester farms, socialized in a cantina or crafted new armor. AA offers me many of the same things. things that many a wstern player have been begging for for years.
the game is more than just "get me some shiney new armor". |

To me, the game screams exploration, persistence, actual teamwork, longevity and fun... many things that are missing from the current crop of MMOs. I don't care if the game has 10 million or 10,000 subs... as long as I get to play it at some point!!! Enter a whole new realm of challenge and adventure. |

considering how well Lineage 2 did in the western markets, i dont see why archage wont be succesful. |

One thing that might limit it's appeal in West, at least with the casual gamers (which im sure sandboxers won't mind that), is the time constraints. Seems like AA will need plenty of time played to gahter resources, build, etc to compete or do the things that make this game unique. I've only watched a few vids and read some articles, but seems like it would be daunting to casuals, so that could limit numbers by a lot. If they can satisfy 500k sanboxers/pvpers than it still would be a success (and might have a better community). |
