Staff Writer Hasani Davis had a chance to sit down with Pirates of the Burning Sea and now brings us this preview.

We had the opportunity to take a first glance at the upcoming "story driven nautical warfare epic" Pirates of the Burning Sea at the NY Comic Con this past week. Let me cut to the gravy and keep it real for you. The game looks exciting and the developers have a very set opinion about their product and the direction they are heading in their game. It's not going to topple the major MMOs, but it's newer, better looking, more tactically sound, and more innovative than many other out there right now. So it will draw more than a few players away if even for only a few months. This little gem will also give the crazed pirate zealot fans the chance to live out their ideal fantasy world and will inspire many more to foster a new love for the more classic style of adventure.

Pirates of the Burning Sea are best classified as an adventure driven tactical MMO. You play the role of an aspiring captain pledging your loyalty to one of three nations: Spain, England, France, or become a rebel by living a life as a pirate! These four factions work towards the ultimate goal of conquest in the Caribbean. As we sat at the Flying Labs booth you couldn't help but notice the lines of fans forming and stopping by to play. I would dare to say that it was the longest line of any of the video games present at the Convention and longer than most of the other booths, now if only they had booth babes!

I'm still waiting, I'm not sure I would kill to get into beta but I would certainly maim.

Could've swore I won a beta slot on this very site awhile back for this game. I also followed instructions when I finally got an e-mail about winning, too.

And no luck?  I'd suggest talkin it over on the FLS forums, I'm sure they could help ya figure out what went wrong.  It'd really suck to lose a chance to try out the beta when you've already won a beta key.  I dunno, maybe they aren't testing computers of your stats?  *shrugs* just a thought, not saying that's the reason.  Again, the best way to find out the real reason is to get a devs attention by either pming them or something.  Couldn't hurt, right?

Is it over yet...
  In reality all you earned was the right to be considered to join the beta if you fit there criteria. If they didn't need anyone else at the moment to test then youd have to wait for a slot to open. Which means the others who won have just as good a chance to get in first as you did. Unless of course your computer isn't up to par then you wont get in even if you won the chance. Basically you won a chance for a interview That being said I envy you. Alot of people dont even have that chance.
