How is your performance after the latest Open Beta patch? It has been amazing for me. The difference is day and night. Whereas I'd formerly chug along a bit with an average of 20 fps outside of town on low settings on 1024x784 resolution, I'm now getting an average 40-45FPS outside of town on med-settings with a resolution of 1280x1024. It's amazing.

Honestly, I'm not a fanboy. It has problems. But whereas I was doubting if AoC would be able to compete with other upcoming MMORPGs yesterday, I'm now wholly convinced I'll be able to enjoy it. Especially with my new graphics card (9600GT) and one extra gig of ram coming next week.

My question is - how has it been for you? I've heard mixed reactions.

So they kept their word to improve perfomance greatly.

open beta client got a update? Now I have to wonder when the closed client will get one?

Between the update, switching to the beat drivers for my 880GT, and turning Vsync on the difference is pretty noticeable. The game just looks a lot smoother, and even when I drop down a few frames it still looks good. The game still chugs in spots but overall I would say the game is looking a lot better.

Really I think the game can only get better from here. I doubt the update removed the debuggers or added in cheetah 2 and once those 2 things are done the performance is going to get A LOT better. I really think people should be less concerned right now at how the game performs, and see if they enjoy the combat, quest lines, etc.

I have seen minimal performance increase and the client still stalls more than an old Lada. I had high hopes for the patch today, but having seen it make no real difference for me I am not considering the status of my Pre-order.

It's like saying, "Ignore the fact that the milk is sour, do you like the taste of the tea" 

A number of in the know people have said the there was a MAJOR Funcom screw up. Funcom gave fileplanet an old client.Thats the reason  for the server takedown and the massive "patch".

So please tell up non testers what you see with the current client please.

Closed client is constantly being updated, several times a week.
