Ok kids, let's go over this once again :

Pre-ordering the game did not mean that you will take part in early start for Age of Conan.

Nobody ever said it did, Funcom did not say it.  Ever.

Nobody paid to be in early start, the $5 fee was to cover bandwidth charges mainly fhat you use up when you download your cliend before it comes in mail ( or before you pick it up in store, whatever the case might be ).

From day 1 Funcom said that Early Start had limited spaces.  Infact they posted that fact before the early start was even announced.

Funcom said again and again that the patching servers will go up and down thruout the day in preparation for head start 'couse they will try and make them as good as possible until the very last minute.

I don't know if posting here makes any sense anymore.  For every intelligent person there is 100 who have the intelligence of a TV dinner.

On a apositive note this was by far the smoothest mmorpg release that I have ever witnessed.  No server rollbacks.  No server crashes.  No client crashes.  No server restarts/resets.  It was so smooth it was almost weird.

We are now recruiting players for our Warhammer Online Guild ( Order side, Casual, Mature, Democratic ).

Don''t reply to me or quote me if you can''t do so without breaking Forum TOS cause I will report you!

Well, anyone that was sucessful at getting in can say what the OP said. That doesn't change the fact that a lot of people who simply looked at the preorder boxes were misled. Never in MMO history has anyone charged for early access, nor did they make any ridiculous claims that the servers were limited.

I'm glad AoC is doing well and servers are packed, cause thats a good sign. While the OP may be correct about his perspective of the launch, there may be 10 who would disagree. My personal opinion is that this whole EA thing was kind of a bait trap. Not that it's really going to matter much to miss out on a 3 day head start, but if you think about it, 3 days can prove to be a long head start in today's gaming.

I just hope things go a little smoother on the 20th when servers go live for everyone. Right now, since I didn't preorder, I'm going to sit back and wait for the reviews over the next few weeks, cause for some reason, I think their going to be mighty interesting and possibly colorful.

We had over 100 people start EA today. (my guild) Everyone was quite happy. (That's an understatement.) The OP is correct. FunCom has done a great job.

the game may be good but the forums and customer service is a night mare. and if they didnt have room for all of the pre- ordered customers what the hell are they going to do tuesday.

it will be a diffrent story when the servers are full. i hope not but that is the way it looks now.

Believe it or not the majority of players playing at release are the EA players.

You forgot that you also get 10 extra days of playtime for this after you registrered the retail copy.

Don't mind if I do... but if I'm wrong that means there will be at least 1.2 million playing at launch.
