Should we be excited? I would love a great Star Wars MMO, but what do you think the game would actually look like. Would it be WOW with sci-fi elements. Would it have space simulation as well as a ground game?

I am, on the one hand excited about any new Star Wars MMO possibility.  On the other hand, I am really afraid of what the game might actually look like. Let's be honest, I think that creating a fun game "outside the box" is probably too much of a risk for money grubbbers at Lucas. I am afraid they will simply look at WOW and say "do that"...

Lets hope they learned from SWG. The MMO market is devoid of any really good Sci-Fi MMOs(other than EVE) , and if done right they would make a killing. Only time will tell what will come, but I'm really rooting for this one.

If it is true then just show me where to sign. Bioware is just an awesome company and they are one of the best in the business in online gaming. My guess it will be linear with a really good storyline with realistic graphics. I just wish that Bioware would just officially spill the beans soon.

If kotor 3 is a MMO...

I will wish it well, but not play it as the whole SWG thing has been done to death IMO. It will be sad that Bioware will have to give most of their profits to LA for the IP (instead of being able to reinvest it in improving the game), It will be even sadder still that LA will have all rights on what happens in kotor 3 what direction it takes etc. Bioware will have very little if any artistic freedom. Last of All LA agreed to NGE and if kotor 3 does not live up to their wants/expectations you can bet LA will force Bioware down a simular path.

Any new MMO that does well is a plus for the Genre as a whole something many here don't see. (especially if the MMO in question doesn't cater to their playstyle) So while I hope for something else from Bioware, and distrust LA greatly and any MMO anchored to them. I still wish Bioware the best of luck whichever path they take

Since as far as Gaming is considered KOTOR is as much Bioware as the six Star War Movie time period is Lucas. The Profits or royalites which was rumoured to be 1 million a year for SWG ( forgiven since the NGE player exit)  will not be the same. This is a Partnership and I am sure the finacial part of that agreement wil be good for all.

Remember SOE is not take part in this except that 80% of the games new customers will be  former  SWG customers.

So the new Bioware game will have 80% of it's players from pre-cu? They may as well shut it down now if they only get 240,000 subs from them and the the 60,000 subs from other people.

The exact type of game that the disgruntled vets want is a open sandbox game, which is the exact type of game that bioware does not make.

Underlined is what I'm betting on.
