This guy's no kid, he's now 76 years old and is considered hardcore. Well maybe he is still a kid at heart. I sure hope so, because at his age, his heart could go at any time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKm-IlnIPms&feature=related In a related link, check out this guy's monitor set-up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fECWSSpEVVA&feature=user To get smooth gameplay, he says it requires at least an 8800 card and SLI. |

Most of the people I know that play WoW are over 30. The oldest person I've raided with was in his 60s. However, my son plays WoW, and all his friends do too. I've heard kids working at the grocery store talking about WoW last month. You can't draw any conclusions as to age, but based on trade chat, there are more kids than adults playing. |

Bob the Cat says, |
Blizzard's internal data for this stuff paints the average WoW player as 26, last I checked, with the population heavily centered around the core gamer segment of 18-34. That's the average player age, not the average subscriber age. Most MMO's have a very similar average age to WoW, but WoW sees a lot more spread. So yeah, there are a lot of kids and a lot of older folks. It's definitely not mostly kids, though. Kids just tend to be visible and annoying. Plus it's a nice talking point for those who want to hate on WoW. |

Aye, the kids do act out a lot in games (WoW isnt the only game they play) and are easily noticed. But I would have to say a lot of times its those who are mentally still kids. Like the 32 year old raid leader who would throw a hissy fit if a raid wiped. Whats funny though is a majority of the people hating on WoW and using the 'too many kiddies' line are the ones who were right there with the kiddies acting out in chat with the Chuck Norris jokes and annoying other for the fun of it. |

Think for yourselves and let others enjoy the privilege to do so as well. |
Or said raid leaders threatening to remove DKP for not following the plan. |

See, ours never did that. He would just start calling the raid group 'retards' and start screaming and talking down to everyone. He threw this huge and I mean HUGE fit when raiding MC. We wiped on Rag because 3 people lost connection mid fight. He waited till they got back on and chewed everyone out. He basically stated that if we wiped again he was going to give up raiding and leave the guild (which our GL kept trying to talk him out of). So after his 15 minute rant about how stupid we were and the possibility of him leave should another wipe happen, he ordered everyone to buff up. While buffing was going on, someone made a comment about having to log out soon. He treated the guy like a 5 yearold. By then I had had it with him, targeted a pet that lay dead near Rag and rezzed it, just as the raid leader (a warrior) was getting in position behind Rag. The pet attacked Rag, he killed it and went after our raid leader who died in 1 hit. Everyone died soon after and all we heard over vent was our raid leader screaming something about us being useless (there was that hint of a quiver in his voice) so people pointed out he was the only one near Rag and caused the aggro. He logged off, we decided to give it one more go and took Rag down. Soon after he left the guild, created his own raid guild, which failed, and ended up bouncing from guild to guild. Our raids went a lot smoother and if we wiped we would laugh about it. |

Obviously adults play WoW, but I would say anyone who thinks WoW is a good MMOG is unsophisticated. |

lol, that was bad. I just remembered an old youtube clip of a leader discussing an onyxia raid and listing what to do and what the penalty was if instructions weren't followed. It was hilarious. |

Yeah, I play games to have fun and hate when people treat it like its life or death moment. Once they start getting all drill sergeant like and treating people like crap because some mob that has some gear needs to be brought down or the world will end.... yeah, the fun is gone. Thats when my brain switches to prank/pissoff mode. People who take a game too seriously to the point of having an aneurism should really just get up and walk away from the machine and re evaluate life a bit. |
