Jesus Christ is Lord.

I just wanted to kick off this post to encourage people to come on over to Vanguard's PvP server and join the fun.

I've been playing VG off and on since its release and have seen many many changes, patches, ect go into effect. It just recently entered its "finished" state, and I came back after being very let down by Age of Conan.

I, admittingly, was an AoC fanboi for about 2 years in anticipation for its release. I got very sucked into the hype and saw it as something that could change the face of MMORPG history, but at its stage now, Funcom is far from doing so. Although I canceled my subscription, I do plan on going back in the future when things become more functional and balanced.

As for now, Vanguard is the place to be. SOE has done an excellent job (yea, I'm surprised as well) at polishing this game to a finished state, and having a very balanced and EQ-like class selection. The only thing lacking right now for it is player base, and that's why I'm here to encourage people to give VG another deserving run and see how far it has come. For those who have not tried it, do it!

MMORPGs are great to look forward to after a hard day of work, but heaven is the ultimate reward for those who live Christ-like.

lol vanguard.

All I have to do is look at the character models and the game makes me sick and then I tried playing it and just wanted to LOL at how bad the game is, theres probably worse mmorpgs out ther ebut Vanguard is up there with them. What pisses me off the most though is how they are slowly taking away from Vanguard which what could of made it unique.

That's SOE's answer for everything though innit, turn it into WOW.

Talking about SWG much?

I'm sure it's a fun game as I was one of the few that enjoyed it at release.  It allows for a lot more freedom of choice then AoC does in terms of where you want to go and what you want to do.  I can't bring myself to play anymore Sony games.  I don't trust the company at all in terms of MMORPGs.  They seem to much concerned with how much money they are making and not enough concerned with making the game fun and different.  The games always end up feeling a bit to generic for my taste.  At least Vanguard tried to be different in the beginning, but it ended up being to much to try and implement in this day and age so it ended up being unfinished and now it's in the hands of the uncreative sony.

and if you don't have the money to invest into vanguard but played EQ1 or EQ2 in the past, they're giving you two free months with no subscription needed and all expansions for both titles included. I too like Vanguard, but EQ2 is the flavor of the.. summer. Good event!

If Vanguard is the place to be than why are it's official forums a Ghost town?

You obviously haven't seen a forum that's actually a ghost town.  The vanguard forums regularly have like 60 users logged in and the first page of general discussion is like 70% posts with responses from today.   I'm sorry that our forums aren't like the WoW forums and there isn't someone to respond with some asinine one-liner the second you post but we at least have meaningful discussions there with devs that actually respond.
