ok so with Diablo 3 announced does that mean that their MMO will be starcraft (or some random setting we have never heard of)
i think it will be starcraft
(thought i would get in the first thread for a change

That's what I was wondering too just now... After the overexcitement slowed down a bit to let me think that is :)
They announced Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3... but neither of them are MMOs. And we know that they are working on a new mmo. I'm guessing Starcraft would be the most logical since it wouldn't make much sense to make Diablo 3 and a Diablo MMO. Although a brand new IP is probably very likely, I mean, they can't keep holding on to the same 3 IPs forever can they? :) |

i still have my money on starcraft or some other sci-fi style game. it would do the industry good if they made a sci-fi game (and did it well) as that would no doubt spark an interest in the genre and allow for more sci-fi mmo's. Blizz popularized the industry, sparked a huge interest in the fantasy setting...and (god forbid) may even pull the industry into a new(er) direction |

They have said that a new MMO would not be a continuation of a current frachise. "When we announce our next MMORPG it's not going to be another WOW--we're not a company that tends to tread the same ground,It'll be something innovative and new that really brings entertainment to another level." |

I don’t think that Bliz’s next MMO will be Starcraft, just because sci-fi MMOs are less popular than medieval ones. Just a thought… |
