So, many people keep talking about DKs in so many threads they don't belong in so here we go.

If you want to know something about them, post here and I or anyone else who might be in the beta, will try to answer as best we can.

Question: Whats the deal with rune forge? I hear it replaces the ability to mix/match runes so you cant have all frost etc.  How does it work?

I will do a video on runeforge when i go back to Ebon Hold.

Rune forge is a DK's personal weapon enchants.  We have 6 weapon enchants.  They do various things like Parry, Damage, and stuff.  Hard to remember what each does, theres 6 and I only use one rofl.  Basically, you can only have either a Rune on your weapon, or an enchant.  They dont stack.  The Runes are much better imo.  It scales so much better.

I use Rune of the Fallen Crusader.  It gives a chance to heal the DK for 3% of their total HP and increase your strength by 30% for 15 seconds.

Theres one for tanking, for parry.  Theres one that deflects spells on chance.  One for fighting undead which deals extra fire damage to them.  One for chance on frost damage which also reduces the targets attack power by 10% for 20 seconds.  The last is one that increases the DK's frost and shadow damage by 10% or 15 seconds on chance.

Thats it.  Just think of them as free enchants that you can freely change at a rune forge in Ebon Hold.

I know that you can put different runes (Blood, Frost, and Unholy) on your weapon to power deathknight abilities. Are these the same as the Rune Forge ones you're talking about, or are they a seperate system?

There is no such thing as putting Blood Frost and Unhold runes on your weapon, on your character, add them to  your character, or anything of the likes.

The death knight does not use Energy or Mana, or Rage.  They use Runes and Rune Power.

Each DK has 6 runes that continually cooldown.  2 Blood, 2 Unholy, and 2 Frost.  Each attack uses one.  Blood Strike uses 1 Blood rune, which puts 1 of the 2 runes into cooldown state.  Plague Strike uses 1 Blood and 1 Unholy.  Which puts 1 blood and 1 unholy into cooldown state.  They have a short cooldown, but mistakenly putting them all into a CD will get you killed because you cannot attack, except auto attack which bleh.

There is no such thing as Adding a rune to your weapon, or adding extra runes to your character.

There is one talent that has a chance to turn a rune into another rune I cant think of the name of it right now.  But basically it counts as any rune, its a wild card.  But thats it, it replaces the activated rune at the time and is able to be used by any skills instead of say, frost.  You activate frost, and it turns into this wild card rune, its then able to be used by any skill unlike Frost being able to be used by only skills that use Frost Runes.

Each time you attack you gain Rune power, like the rage bar of a warrior.  Only a few spells use this though, such as Death Coil and Dancing Rune Blade.

Rune Forging is stated above.  They are Weapon Enchants.  Read above.

Ah, thank you. Was a bit confused by what I'd read on the main website.

If you watch my videos you can see how they are used.  I'll try to make video that shows it more clear.

The option to customize your rune set up has been removed.

You are stuck with 2 Blood, 2 Unholy, 2 Frost.

Blizzard said that DKs were balanced around the 2,2,2 set up and other set ups would either make you too powerful or gimped.

I like to think of the deathknight class like Magic the Gathering

The deathknight is the player.

The Runes are like the mana,

And your abilities are like the deck of cards.

The deathknight talent trees are like specializing with a certain source of mana, so the more you specialize in one, the stronger  it is.

Any of you playing a deathknight agree? I've got a couple of friends who like Magic the gathering, and dont really understand how the DK seems to work lol

I think its a fitting comparison lol

I''m addicted to failing

with the runing system for your weapon with the parry and tanking and +30% str thing, can any weapon have these enchants on them or are there Death Knight only weapons which have runing capabilities but are useless to other classes? oh and how is the starter gear for death knights?
