.--. Actually I dont think there is one easy way to fix AoC. It would be possible to do something pre release, but then again you will always be burden by the overly focused gfx engine. edit: ohh ye, forgot about the terrible customer service.. any MMO companies these days should know better than to ignore their customers. Let the freedom of speech be allowed on forums, dont blame customers. The companies need to pull their fingers on how to fix issues. I dont like to hear people saying that if you fix one thing, something else gets broken. If you want to make a quality game, then you should also know how to fix things without breaking or nerfing all the time.

maybe there should be a new threat for the combat system only but im with xtort on this yes it is vulnerable to server lag (even tough it hardly happens to me) but come on i would choose the conan style of fighting over wow (and prolly wars) system of command and wait any day. this is finally something that breaks the mold of so many other wow type fighting games (i.e. lotr) and brings in something new.

.........just explain to me how skill-based ? wtf i dont like ppl saying things they dont understand, how the fuk aoc combat system is skill based ? how the hell casting a skill, then wait to do up/right/left to activate it makes it skill-based........or even revolutionary.................. here is some test i did with my clanmate when we were bored in our useless guild town, 2 bear shamans, exactly same feat tree i won 8 out of 10 fights, i was using G15 macro keyboard, and he was using regular keyb and mouse i lost 10 fights out of 10, i was using regular keyboard, and him using nostromo (macro mini keyboard with stick which makes it even more easier for him to run around) when you have macro keyboard, you have a freaking high chance to win a fight, you hit a botton and you are free sliding around before you do your combo. for infos we had trouble at begining to how do this test, so we decided not to use dmg mutiplier like regain and such, becuz we was able to one shot ech other(this was before gems in june) so much for skill-based, or revolutionary combat lol, say different and stop there, would be more accurate |

as i said the system has a ton of flaws but class balance or some equip/spells that break pvp doesnt make the system itselve less revolutionary or skill based. the fact that you could cheat a system by using nostromo doesnt mean its less skill based if you do it with out aids like nostromo. what you describe could be also used for programming your nostromo for guitar hero or dead or alive or any other game thats based on a timed sequence of button hits. with the combo system its about executing the combo right and hitting that combo finisher at the right time when your close to your opponent (as meele) of course this kind of system is only the beginning, of course the directional shielding or blocks arent influencing the pvp match as they should, of course the final version should be some kind of streetfighter/ soulcalibur... fighting with moves and countermoves, complex combos and more. the fact that aoc breaks away from the old fashioned wow command list of actions towards a more dynamic action orientated fighting style still makes it revolutionary and refreshingly new for me. apart from the obvious issues with lag id rather see more games with the conan style of fighting or some games with round based combat rather then more mmos going the save path of emulating wow. |
