Anyone remember the uproar on the CoX forums when the devs announced ED? Wow, the game was going to die. As we know, it didn't, many left, many came in slowly as the pain subsided. AoC should have done same thing, I.E., limit stacking, diminishing returns. Instead they nerfed the gems themselves. This was a bad disappointing fix, I think they should have taken a more pragmatic approach. /discuss. |

Anyone who wants to go into outer space is not playing with a full deck! (Example: Richard Garriot) |
Who, or what, is ED? I currently play City of Heores and I don't think I've ever heard of it. But if it almost killed the game I would like to know what it is. |

In the old days, you could load six hancers (gems) into a power and they all stacked. You had one shot blasters (dmg), un-killable tanks (res) etc. They introduced (issue 4 I believe, could be wrong) Enhancement Diversification. What we have now, except no IOs. Basically, anything over three of the same type is a waste. Google it, it's interesting. Anyway, the forums went crazy, the hate poured in. Difference is, the lead dev (Emmert) and the rest were on the boards all the time explaining the reasoning (the impending IO system - same reason they nerfed Hammy-Os). Many quit, we were angry. The game is much much better today, and the IO system was well worth it. Not that I expect FC to learn. |
