after the somewhat lengthy download (my net sucks) i managed to get into the game late yesturday evening.  all i can say is it is one hell of a game (so far).  the missions were fairly difficult (as a harvester, though i heard some of the combat ones were quite tough...it would explain all the rez requests on chat) and it actually taught me how to harvest (many MMO's stop before you have nailed it or hardly give you any information at all).  i love being able to make my own actions and i love the scenery.

scenery is a big thing for me.  i love forests (in real life), i've spent hours walking through random forests for the hell of it so i love lots of trees everywhere and exciting areas.  most MMO's seem to think slapping in 1 tree every 10m is the equivalent of a forest.  i am glad to see a game that not only has fairly dense scenery, but it also changes with the seasons (which i think its an awesome feature).  i loved how the animals go about their daily business without the adventurers disturbing them (except on the odd occation when someone feels like slaughtering an innocent rat thing).  its nice for a change, to have a world that isnt 100% focussed on you.   you arent the one person that is going to save the world.  you are not the person who everyone looks up to.  your just some random guy/girl trying to make their way in the world.

i encourage anyone who was thinking to sign up asap (as it is currently free).  some points that sold it for me

Graphics (wasnt expecting such decent graphics)

character customisation (not the best but pretty good anyway)

actions (making your own is so much fun)

scenery (detailed and ever changing)

the community (everyone was helpful)

Thanks for the positive response to the game Death, and I hope to talk to you ingame soon, although i currently don't have too much time to play :p

I hope you enjoy playing the game as much as many seem to. (The free accounts seem to have gone through pretty rapidly, i estimate at least 4000 the past 6 days, has to mean something).

Graphics might be a bit dated to some, but they're still gorgeous in their own right, not cartoony like wow not realistic like GW, but more something in between.

And you haven't seen half of building your own actions yet, it gets really awesome at the later levels.

when i say it sucks i got 5 gig spread out over me (gamer) my sis (youtube fanatic) and my little sis (club penguin+other free crappy game) all up we easily go over in the first 2 weeks of our recharge.  when we go over my net (thankfully instead of charging me) slows down to dial-up speeds.  also because i live in Australia and in Canberra the net deals here are complete crap.  hopefully i will get ADSL 2 soon but there is a massive problem with who owns the wiring needed to connect (basically the company i am with has 1 wire for their services and the one i want to move to uses wire from another company, meaning i need to change my home phone to get a new internet)

so yeah...crap internet for now but soon it will be somewhat better.  we can never get anywhere near America or European standard for net until our Gov funds this and competition ramps up.

"Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum"

I got into it yesterday night and i was very impressed. The action creation is a HUGE draw to me, and from my understanding (reading the forums) the higher lv players have many different set ups for different occations which makes everyone's build unique.

Crafting seems to be deeper than anything elese ive encountered in any other game. I agree with the OP about the environments, they are lush and feel "alive".

I still have a lot to learn but i like what i see thus far. More people should join asap since the free period has limited entries.
