5pm GMT apparently, although in my experience Funcom usually have GMT as actual GMT+1 or CET.  Best guess then is either 4 or 5pm true GMT.

There will always be fanboys and there will always be doomsayers. You just got to ignore both of them and try to be in the middle. Its like this now with every single new MMO and its getting ridicoulas I think these forums have just turned into flame war after flame war with no real facts and the people with the real facts get ignored.

We get ignored indeed, I even installed Xfire again to prove I'm in AoC beta (check my xfire sig).

For the last time, beta works great to me, I have loads of fun, preordered both US and EU versions (waited on AoC for 3 years, as I am fan of R.E.Howard's works since childhood).

This is what WORKS in beta, played many hours on these two:
AMD Phenom 9500
ATI Radeon 3870
4GB DDR2
MS Vista 64-bit Ultimate

AMD 64x2 4800
NVIDIA 8800 GTS 320MB
2GB DDR2
MS Vista 64-bit home basic

First of all Wizyy I'm not calling you a liar.  Thought I would get that out of the way before anyone started to jump down my throat.  I find it interesting that you state AoC is running fine on a system running vista home basic as that OS is not even remotely aimed at gaming, especially high-end gaming.  The official MS description of the capabilities of home basic are :

Windows Vista Home Basic is the edition of Windows for basic home computing needs. If you only want to use your PC for tasks like browsing the Internet, using e-mail, or viewing photos, then Windows Vista Home Basic may be the right edition for you. While it won't provide as many benefits as Windows Vista Home Premium, it will help you use your PC more easily and more safely than you could with Windows XP.

If home basic runs all modern games just fine then a lot of people are being misled by both microsoft and system builders everywhere in order to get them to buy home premium instead :)

Omg man, there IS NO BETTER OS for gaming! What do you want to install for gaming on a 64-bit system? Linux? XP? Xp, for which Microsoft wanted to stop its support even this year?

What do you think DirectX10 is for? Some applications? Don't be guided by mindless googling for information, use your brain.

You missed my point.  Vista home premium or ultimate are the operating systems slated for gaming by Microsoft and system builders.  Home basic is slated simply for lower level applications and not suitable for high-end gaming.  Nothing to do with XP, Linux etc.

I was honestly interested in the fact that you have a system running home basic that is fine with AoC, no insult or slur intended.  However, your rather hostile response to this indicates that it is in fact your brain that needs more use, like reading the actual words that I wrote before jumping to conclusions.

Leave the guy alone, if you are unable to answer his questions then just don't post.  I'm willing to wager that he can speak and write English a hell of a lot better than you lot can read and speak his native language.

I'm sorry, but it is absolutely beyond ridiculous to try to troubleshoot something that is not supposed to be working yet.  Just because it is patched doesn't mean anything.

Be patient and if the problem still exists at launch after all the patches are definitely done, then you can start looking for answers.

Sorry to contradict but you're wrong.  The client should still run and after the intros take you to the login screen even though the servers are at the moment unavailable.  That said it sounds like the OP has issues that are a little different to most other people.

OP go to the game directory and find the file 'simple config', run it and select DX9, press ok and then try to run the client.

Actually I find the fanbois for AoC a lot worse than the haters.  Even if someone genuinely posts a valid concern or complaint they are instantly jumped upon by the AoC is god crowd.  The official forums are worse.  The level of immaturity over there is appaling for what is supposed to be an M rated game.  I just hope that it doesn't continue on into the in-game community.

Go to the game folder and find a file called simple config.  Run this and select DX9.  Your client should now run fine.  DX10 isn't a part of this client yet so trying to run it with DX10 produces the black screen and stuttering of the sound.  DX10 should be in by launch day but no guarantee.

Is that a typo or did you mean to type they had a cash balance totaling only 47 dollars at the end of march?.

And more importantly how did you manage to sneak into my house and take a picture of my PC without me noticing?

Or is that just a representation of what the average users PC might look like after attempting to play in one AOC’s EPIC! MASSIVE! HUGE! keep siege battles?

Nah, he nicked that picture from an Asus in-house presentation about some minor overheating problems with the Striker II Formula northbridge :)

I hope FC do manage to retain 250k subs after 3 months although it's by no means certain, I believe LotRo for example falls way short of that mark.

The current era of the Conan lore is the novel called Hour of the Dragon, by Robert E. Howard. Conan has just become king of Aquilonia. He has a wife, he's actually expecting a child, and in Stygia, his ancient enemy, Thoth-Amon, is stirring and a lot of weird things happening in the world. At the same time, the Vanir are invading, you have the Ku****es invading, and the Picts are invading.

Interview with lead designer talks about a lot of great things that you should listen to sometime so maybe you can get your facts straight and quit lying to everyone including yourself.

WHAT!!! I can't get pissed in the tavern and beat up some guy, or even sit on a chair ....... Geez that's it, cancelling pre-order now j/k :P

Seriously, as long as the game is fun and runs ok who the hell cares?  If there are some features that just don't make it in at launch but are added within the 1st six months or so better and more polished than would have been the case then fine.  It isn't that long ago that many posts were asking FC to delay release for another six months.  Alright so it isn't a full delay but those that wanted it have got a partial delay at any rate.

The main problem with things not being available at release is wether or not they will ever be available aka Horizons, which promised the earth and even had said features printed on the back of the retail box, features that never made it into the game despite many many assurances from the crooks .. err! devs in charge.

If something is worth doing it's worth doing well and if doing it well means we have to wait a bit no problem.  Just as long as it does actually appear eventually.

I presume that you mean this one http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=787075 and if so go for the Phenom 9850 black edition which has an unlocked multiplier for more overclocking goodness :)

i would go for a complete new build if you can afford it, especially if you want to play the new crop of MMO's on decent settings.  After you have bought a new cpu, mainboard and graphics card the rest is pretty cheap so you may as well have all new and up to date.

Or in Vista press the windows key and R at the same time to open the run box, type dxdiag and hit ok.

Asus RoG series motherboards are the best games boards on the market at the moment, from the 680 striker extreme, the 780 striker II formula ( northbridge runs very hot on this board ) and up to the 790 striker II extreme which would be a waste of money for the cards you have.  The 680 would do you just fine, it's a very fast, reliable board.  One word of advice if you go for one of these however is to ensure that you unplug the power cord and wait a minute for the capacitors to discharge before making any hardware changes, adding extra ram etc. as these boards are very sensitive to EM damage.  Note that I am advising an Nvidia chipset here as you have two cards to link in SLi, if you only had one card I would be advising an Intel chipset.

As for cpu, any of the intel quad cores really, Q6700 and up.

oops, forgot the case:  I have one of these http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=628084 but just black without the Nvidia logos.  Excellent case but a bit on the pricey side.
