I tryed the game on 3 seperate occasions, I tried to like it... but honestly the game went bankrupt for a reason.

It may have a very small fan base, but that's pretty well it.

And despite what anyone says, businesses are in business to make money, not make social chat rooms.

My take:

Two thumbs down.

Regardless of what anyone tells you, the ratings here are generally spot on about a game.

Initially because a game is new the ratings will be high, until the game has been out for a while.

A 7 is being generous for this game, but I do understand some people like pve grind games.

The graphics are really nice.

But once you hit 50, like most aisan games - the grind is exceedingly painful.

And oh so repetitive.

So play it for 30 or so levels have fun for a month or so.

They made this game free for a reason, to get teenagers with no money to play it.

Yah it sucks that bad.

Not really. Still a lot of things wrong with it.

Like what????????????

I don't think you are playing the same game as me.

The game rocks, and rocks hard... if there are some glitches I really don't care - when you have the money and the resources to put out a quality mmo title, come back and post.

The games combat is a refreshing change from wow, lotro... and the countless copy cats.

The characters have nice aiblities that make the classes FUN to play.

The starting quest line is involving, interesting and fun.

Server and game performance for me has been 100% - smooth and no problems.

Graphics are eyepopping amazing.

So tell me why is my game experience so different from yours?

AoC is the best fantasy mmo on the market right now.

Yup despite the ton of negative posts on this forum????????.... (I don't understand why) - this game is the new mmo to beat.

It is the best mmo I've played to date and I'm having a BLAST!!

I've played L2, EQ1&2, AO, DAOC, SB, AC1&2, CoH, Lotro etc...

and this game has better graphics, better combat animations, involving quests with storyline, fun character abilites/spells/feats

Just a freakin awesome game!

well i have heard many mixed reviews from the combat as well.  I appreciate the responses but in LOTRO being a melee fighter is well,  fairly boring.  I guess i will just wait for AoC to have a free trial then i guess i will give it a shot. I dont know what i should do.  I know there is a free month once u purchase the game but that month cost me 49.99 if i dont like the game.  Is there not some type of guild, or kinship type thing?

Once you experience the combat of AoC - you will never go back to Lotro

AoC rocks and is arguably the best mmo on the market right now.

The first 20 levels are solo.

The combat is simply refreshing and amazing all at the same time.

The graphics are extremely well done.

The classes well thought out, lots of quests to do.

Join a good guild if you are having problems finding good people to group with.

I played Lotro in open beta but never bought it retail - too much same old same old for me. With AoC I can't stop playing!

Im sorry but didn't this game go retail today ?  And we are already supposed to just "stick with" them while they do exactly what ?  The things that should have been done before release? - Whats the purpose of closed beta now if not to exactly finetune and polish?  Or was the purpose of beta just to put together a application that wouldn't crash every 20 mins and then fix the content l8ter on?

And then he goes on to talk about expanding and expansions...  Im sorry Funcom.  Lets see you bring out what you said was in the game before you make any more promises.

Don't be a putz.

Are you really this stupid?????

Why would you quote something like this out of context?

Instead of all these stupid threads on the same topic - 3 hour delay on game launch.

When can people actually start writing about their experiences in Closed Beta?

Their thoughts on classes strengths and weaknesses?

Their thoughts on game balance, etc...

I like Funcom as a company, I bought the preorder and I'll be playing the game and supporting them.

Kind of opens my eyes on what a porject like this must cost to get off the ground.

Meanwhile immature impatient adults acting like 12 year olds cry because everything in a very complex system is not perfect.

I hope Funcom does well.

Funcom did a great job of fixing the bugs and balancing out AO - I'm sure they will do the same with AoC.

I take this post as proof that enjoying grind games is not opinion, but rather the sign of an immature gamer.  Enjoying the greater games that give you freedom is something that all the carebears will come to enjoy eventually.

???????????

Freedom to grind?????

Are you for real? Freedom in an artificial world and gaming environment? Boy have they got you suckered.

I'll tell you what Scottc you take your virtual world and enjoy it, play it everyday - reach max level - make your "psydo" friends online and pretend you are "powerful" and have an amazing life. But at the end of the day, you've wasted a year of your life and accomplished nothing of any significance. Nothing.

If you have convinced yourself otherwise you need to reevaulate your priorities in life.

S2 is a wonderful game, that allows you to be as hard core or as casual as you want. You play matches with teams and you can usually play a game in 30 mins to an hour.

I am very successful in my career, I'm working towards my blackbelt in kickboxing and I have a wonderful loving girlfriend.

I'll take my freedom over yours anyday.

I had stopped playing mmo's for a long time, because quite honestly - once you've played for as long as I have you get sick of leveling up a new toon in a new game.

I have found a game that's cheap, made by Western dev's, team based and FUN FUN FUN.

Warning it's focus is on pvp, so carebears won't like it.

It's called,  Savage 2

Just google it and try it out.

5 hour free demo and it's great for casual play or the hardcore die hard fan.

Perfect World is dog doo.

It doesn't even come close to p2p games, not even close.

Your first post ever om mmporg.com and you come to tell us how great all the "hidden" content is in a game....

I won't flame you I'll just state a simple fact....

If the game is as good as you say, more people would be playing it.

Yah and if they released to soon and the game had a lot of bugs you would be the first person on these forums complaining about it.

Grow up.

As far as open beta or not, most people on this site are not interested in playtesting a game to make it better, which is what beta is supposed to be (helping the dev's put out a better product).

Most of the people on this site want to...

a) play a free game.

b) use beta as a free trial.

Funcom as a company rocks.

AO is a quality game, I have no doubt AoC will be as well.

And I don't want to be interviewed by a 12 year old on vent that decides who can join or not.

I highly doubt that any well run organized guild that has a recruiting process as described has a 12 year old running it.

Guilds that recruit in open channel... they get too many asshats for my liking.
