I really don't understand why people don't like the graphics or the sound. The sound was incredible and when put with the stylistic graphics the feeling of the game was outstanding. Much better than anything post WoW. |

I would even go as far to say most people leave a game when they become aware of them. The whole point of any given motivator, whether it be loot, experience, story progression, or whatever, is that you want to do it. I TCoS has a relitively small dev team though... we have gotta be looking at 4-6 months before they get additional content in? At least? This is why they need retainers past chess ;)
It sounds like we agree :D |

What is going to motivate people beyond loot remains to be seen, but I don't think this game will be as solo quest grind as you think. Perhaps it will be a quest grind, but I think the devs are trying to make a game where grouping is important and I think that is where the community will come from. Also you may be right vesavius, at first there may not be much of a "carrot on a stick" for this game, but there are many awesome ideas that they have mentioned that they want to implement. Hopefully these things don't take them too long, because they could lose a lot of people before the game really flourishes...but I think enough will stick around for it. Personally I can go without a "motivator", in my opinion it stiffles game play and to me "motivator" sounds like it's something I need to do rather than want to do. |

But you guys are saying that people won't be motivated by loot. I think like the last poster said that you can find whatever you want to motivate you. Loot can easily be a motivater in this game, getting the best sigils is only going to help you so why not go for them. Or perhaps you just want the coolest looking armor that is really difficult to get. There are many motivators in this game and I think that is where it is going to shine as opposed to games like WoW where loot is everything. |

It's sad your not going to play this game...it definitely is not easy mode. The system they have set up for death certainly makes you want to stay alive. Losing the bonuses you get for staying alive can be a big deal. Oh and it is not at all a solo game, you will probably need help with many of the quests they plan on having. |

Personally I think this is a great thing. I feel so left out in huge raids...you have a job and the only way your going to get noticed is if you mess up. There is a much better social bonding experience in a smaller group...especially since it should be harder and more tactical based like someone else mentioned. |

I understand your frustration, but I don't think this game will have the same problems that most MMO's have with balancing and such. It is so open ended as to what you can do with your skills that if you lose it is probably going to be the persons fault and not the balance issues. Also every class can do everything...so also don't have to worry about balancing that either, anyone can be a tank, healer, or ranged character. I'm a pvper, but I generally get upset about the whiners that want balance as well...I've never been in an MMO where my character felt unbalanced...I just dealt with it. This game was never meant to be a PvE game....since the beginning it has been both a PvE and a PvP game, so I think the devs will be smart enough to know what to fix and what not to. |

I expected to see some reasons as to why I shouldn't see it as a grind or just another Korean game upon coming into this post, but there weren't any. I don't think this game will be a grind like other Korean games, but it still doesn't look new to me...maybe I'm picky because I've refused to play another MMO until a game that breaks away from the mold. I haven't played an MMO fully in about 4 years...I stop about a fourth into the games because I'm incredibly bored. Of all the info I've seen and heard on this game there is still nothing that seems different to me...besides flight...woohoo... Give me some facts about it that are different and I'll listen and maybe change my mind. Sorry if this post came off a little attacking...didn't really mean it that way. |

Darkfall looks cool for my hardcore side...but I doubt it will be out soon and I've been following TCoS for like 3 years and it still looks incredible. I really don't get the hype over Aion. So TCoS gets my pick, just waiitng to get into beta :D |

I do see a lot more skill in twitch based games than the current form of MMO's, but that is just me. I enjoy MMO's a great deal more than I've ever enjoyed an FPS though because after a while FPS games get boring, dry, and become very thoughtless. Which is why I think there should be some sort of a merge between the two. Combining strategy and the FPS style aiming is a step in at least a NEW direction. To the original poster, I would suggest you take a look at TCOS, the combat looks incredible and it might be what you are looking for. |

So what if Acclaim did some F2P games... They are just publishing the game, they didn't make it and they aren't going to be the ones deciding how the game will play. |

I agree with this post too, when I played GW I didn't like the combat that much because of the clunky movement and stiff feel to it. It really bothered me, I just can't get used to that... I thought AC had really smooth combat as well, perhaps this is the reason all current MMO's are failing... |

Although the game isn't heavily instanced and the comment was clearly misunderstood. There are a lot of misunderstandings about this game and I think thats a big reason it isn't being talked about as much. |

If your in the US they will have a free beginning area so you can try out the game, I'll be using that to see if I want to buy it, even though I'm pretty sure unless that free area is just terrible I will be getting this game since none of the MMO's out right now are of any interest to me. |
