I dont see why people play games they hate just to complain to other players that they think it sucks, like the people who will play it care. Trust me noone cares that ya hate a game because your not famous not manny know you and true fans will play no matter what. Case in point look at games like AoC or EQ2 or hell even GW or CoH/CoV, those being just a few. People have said they suck and yet look they still have people playing them and liking it. Proof that no matter how much you complain or insult the game no one will listen and if they do its to find things to make fun of you for. Oh and speaking of fools lol yes for those who have read the AoC forum I fixed the issue i was having and apologize.

What are you talking about?! omg WAR's combat is 100% similar to WoW, to LOTRO, to EQ2, to VG.....

your making fun of wow for point and click, maybe try playing warhammer before you say stuff like that

after beta testing war for months now I wont be buying it due to the terrible polish, and due to the gameplay being sub-par to WoW, and even LOTRO

oh and RVR is just like WoW's open world pvp system

sit on a control point until its controled, defend it. Or the other side will. OOOH thats PVP at its best

haha thats funny you sound just like one of those people that trys out a game and hates it but keeps playing anyway just to find more things to poke at. Look you can love WoW all ya want I really dont care i got bored with it because first off they wouldn't stop shoveing the game down peoples throats. everywhere you go even today you hear about how 8 million play and so should you I mean what kinda crap is that besides advertiseing death. I liked WoW and aparently you see everything as a WoW clone you like so manny others are baseing all your decisions on a game based upon WoW. I guess I wonder why? why would you assume that WoW is the basis of everything. First off it wasnt the first to come along second if you value a game so much that you and manny others base what you think upon it then you are a greater fool than you think.
 

When Beta testing a game you dont base it on your favorite game you go in and play with a completely unbiased outlook but lately it seems gamers everywhere dont they find a game they love then try other games to see if they measure up THATS why people say everythings a WoW clone because they base thier decisions on the standards of WoW. So before ya go and start whineing stop and think , do you see other games not just WAR from a unbiased side or are you judgeing it before spending real valueable time with it giveing it a full chance because right off one little thing didn't match up to what was in another game.

......oh and no I was not fortunate enuff you get in beta I reserved a copy but the dam gamestop was out of the numbers for open beta and even tho I was signed in to the newsletter since 2006 I never got a chance to get in sadly. As I said say what you will but I'll still play it because WoW has lost my interest I got burnt out on it and dont really see myself going back.

well no its no alienware and I dont have direct access to anyplace that sells graphics cards. Inorder for me to find a new card I'd have to drive about 62 miles. pluss as of right now i dont have the money nor do I know what the hell works because the 450$ nVidea card i do have in my old pc I'm not sure it will work  anymore since its about 4 years old AND while this pc does have expansion slots I han't know if I can even get the dam thing to work.  I bought a pc that I could afford excuse me for not haveing the 8,000$ to buy the great pc's everyone seems to have now. But I feel its dumb as hell that I have to spend craploads of cash that I dont have to play one single game and besides I can't play WoW anymore because it wont run on windows vista.

oh and for that poster that said to get a xbox or ps3 i have a xbox I just enjoy playing mmorpg's on a pc a bit more than playing cookie cutter bs games. So go ahead rag on me all day I do give a rats ass anymore I'm tired about to pass out from lack of sleep so far today and am starting to dispise the gameing world. I guess I dont see how anyone could be dumb enuff to say "oh I need to spend more money more dammit" and not feel like they took a pipe up the rear port.

its not so much that its only been about 4 hours since I bought it so I could take it back but the thing is I wanted to play it  granted my factory graphics system is wierd even for me cause its a intel integrated pc so I have no clue I'd use my old nvidea but I'm sure it wont work either and it was dieing which was why I got this new pc. whats frustrateing is that even after going thru the trouble of buying this new machine I still cant play the game I mean come on tell me thats not some fragernaukle bs.

ok so I just got a brand new computer spent a good chunk of change on it too. Well I decided that I'd try this game out so I buy the game. it installs just fine no problems. then I go to start it and it wont start because it cant innitialize the subsystem rendering. so I follow what the website said to do still didnt work.

SO here I sit wasteing 48 bucks and my precious time on a expensive drink coaster which it will soon become. The fact that after spending my money on a bradn new pc I am told I am still way below standard. hey I got an idea SCREW THIS GAME . I'd never sugjest playing a game where you have to be rich or have momy and daddys credit card to buy a 9 thousand dollar pc to run one dam game. total bs, and alread I can hear the spoiled little children telling me how I wasted my money on a pc...wel fit this in your head atleast I bought my pc with my money that I earnd at my JOB. so untill someone can explain to me why I sit here tired as hell after working a a night shift trying to try out a game I cant run unless I buy a 1,500$ graphics card. God I'll just play CoH/CoV and be done with it atleast it will run for me.

personally I understand the whole cross-platforming appeal but its not an easy thing to do since no system even if made by the same company(i.e. Xbox 360 and windows pc's). if companies really want to reach the console people aswell as the pc people the best thing is to do what EQ did back in the day. making a separate game for their console( Sony that is). Sure it would be fun to find a seamless way for both platformers and pc folk alike to mingle but lets face it that's the impossible journey unless every pc was made with the exact same specs. It's not so much that consoles are the problem the truth is that pc's are because no two pc's are alike where as consoles are alike in majority of ways.

I thought the idea of everquest online adventures being the PlayStation's own personal MMORPG made it that much better simply because it staid to the same basis as its pc counterpart while at the same time breaking console owners into the EQ and in some cases the MMORPG world. But companies will continue to try their best to make a MMO game cross-platform because the players keep wishing for it. But trust me on this it will be a long time before its perfected so don't expect greatness, always keep a bit of judging till you see it yourself or you'll be disappointed everytime.

I also believe that console gamers and pc gamers should stick together as gamers but not go looking for that amazing MMORPG or just any MMO to cross-platform perfectly the first time. I'm sure age of Conan will improve over time just be patient and hope for the best. The only game to cross-platform and survive the battle was Final Fantasy XI. Altho it should be noted that it didn't get there without a few hitches along the way.

One day we may see that breakthrough but till then be patient and just try to get through all the glitchy laggy screen punching hair pulling strain that some people will experience.

hey all I'm just now getting ready myself to try the 14 day trial and wont know anyone so I hope I can find friends fast.

I know this is EQ2 forum lol and were talking about LoTRO but on the EQ2 side I'll wait till i can get the new xpac I have all but the recent one they just released.

well thanks for the answers and I am right now getting ready to start the 14 day trial of LoTRO. infact it just finished updateing and I'm gonna jump in soon just to see how it goes. altho I wont know anyone on there lol none of my friends play it.

two quick questions is the new xpac for EQ2 a download or one I have to buy. second I keep hearing alot about LOTRonline is it really any good. I keep debateing on trying it right now i just got back into CoH/CoV and I'm actually starting to question it because well I want something deep and fun. EQ2 may lag for me because my PC isn't exactly high end.

because in real life to become strong it takes time and dedication, would you rather be a unskilled weakling who gets bullied or a skilled combatant that ppl fear. and as for why cause thats what an RPG is at its core it seems to me you like multiplayer games but dont like RPG's which right now is whats dominateing the MMO circut. haveing no level is like an arcade game simple, an MMO as you put it is complicated its not for the impatient. MMORPG's are well liked by ppl who love spending hours working for a goal not just rushing thru. can I ask you this have you ever plaied an RPG before like final fantasy or Dungeons & Dragons or anything like that?

     If I get beat down by a random player in any MMO, i would hope that I am in a good guild that can protect me and/or overwhelm by numbers. If you start playing a MMO that advertises Open PvP, you can't possibly go into it with a carebear mentaility. You will get ganked, you will tear your hair out, but you have to keep the end goal in sight. In time you will become more powerful and get closer to exacting revenge.

 

   This is really only an issue when a new player joins a several year old MMO(except WoW)

Of course a new server will give any old MMO a fresh feel to it, but it has to have people actually playing on it, which of course, it may fail just due to the fact that people wont leave the server they are on to start over.

  i think Rohan Online has a neat feature that if anyone PK's you, without you fighting back and/or outlevels you by a certain margin, that player is added to your hitlist. Then you can go or with a group instantly teleport to that player to exact revenge.

I dont go in with a carebear attitude Impaler but see I dont have 30+ friends that start guilds and such I have been in guilds but they always disban so I am always alone when I play. I wish I had tons of online friends but I dont cause the ones that I do have dont play the same games I do. I never get help or a group so I dont know what servers you play on where ppl are sooo helpfull to you it always seems if I need help they just laugh at me. so untill the day I actually find a large grp of friends who play the same games I play like right now I just got back into CoH/CoV( wont know a dam soul and be by myself mostly but still) I will always be alone in the MMORPG's. basicly I have gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to stuf like that. If you know a way to get lots of online friends that I dont know of let me know.

But ya gotta admit that a paerson beating down a defenseless player takes the fun out of the game I've actually see ppl quit a game because of it. For years now ppl have proclaimed WoW as the king of MMORPG's.....excuse me? Does anyone actually know what a rpg let alone a MMORPG is actually suposed to be.....I do trust me I still play the table top version of D&D with my friends every other weekend for god sake.

In closeing this goes out to not just this poster person here but to all MMORPG gamers who just wannt beat ppl to a pulp then complain and whine because they dont like that the recent expansion gave more story and nuthing new for pvp . ...ready pay attention... STOP COMPLAINING AND JUST SWITCH TO A DIFFERENT GAME.     Before flaming the OP have you ever heard of the MMO called Fury? I think it is more of what he likes. The games you listed for him to "GO PLAY" do not have an online community. I stopped reading your post once I saw this, as the walls of baseless, incoherent text were making my eyes bleed.

   Also the big draw of a MMORPG is the ability to use the character you've worked so hard(well not in WoW) to level up/customize to beat the living snot out of people. Who wants to kill retarded AI all the time?

   If PvE was the most important aspect in a MMO for you, why don't you just go play Oblivion or Console RPG's. They do a much better PvE/story telling/RPG job.

Huh, I guess having separate servers for people who RP and for those who want everything else was a smart idea? =/ Then again I wish I didn't have to make my character all over again because I didn't feel like not RPing that day. It seems like a large percentage of people on this board have something stuck way up their @$$ though and can't get it out, just look at the response to my first post. Honestly though OP if the only competition left in the game you're playing is "Who can spend the most money?" then I'd probably just forget the game entirely. Supafroxx I love the RP servers lol I'm really patient and love that aspect I like pvp but as i said I dont think its the core of the games or shouldnt be because that strays from what an RPG was meant to be it should just be called a MMOFighter or MMOBeat the new guys face in till he crys lol.

ok I will agree with zantax on some levels, and I have and still do play the tabletop game of D&D with some friends, the dice,paper and the imagination of my mind and my friends. so yeah I can agree
