I had a great time on WOW from level 1 to 60. Then we had nothing to do, so my guild made arcanite reapers for weeks. Once everyone had one, including our paladins and hunters... we did MC and then got really bored and all left.

Ryzom is a great game with alot of Sandbox elements. It's far superior to many new MMOrpg. You can even design your own quests and such for other players.. it's cool and fun. If the lack of jumping turns you off... I seriously don't know what to say lol. Go back to WOW ? |

Yes, I always wanted to date a girl that would talk about WOW at a bar while getting piss drunk and then talking about her magic pony and leafe made crossbow :) I guess games do generate some conversation. Like a romantic walk in the park where you explain to your girl how to perform a heart rip off fatality with Kano or when you have to shoot the germans in the head in order to unlock an achievement! Mmmmmhmmmmhmmmm!!!!! |

The opinion of MMORPG community does not even equal to 0.5% of the world. The opinion of every gaming forums does not even equal 10% of the gaming community. MMORPG has been on the negative side for last 1 year or more… However, it’s always the same 300 people whining and dissing everything in existence. These people are not the majority… all they do is scream louder then the happy campers. There are TONS of great games out there…. TONS of great MMOs…. Here’s what I have to say to people that complains…. Not happy with SWG? Well don’t play… I see my roomie raiding, Rping, crafting and doing tons of cool stuff everynight. His guild is still active with over 200 people. Who cares about the other servers, he’s having a great time. In the end, who care about the vets… obviously some people are happy and for the record my roomie started playing at release day. He misses Pre-Cu but he got over it because in the end, SWG is game and a casual past time. WOW too simple and boring? Well don’t play… Good luck to enfore your stupid opinon on 10 million users that their favorit game is shit. Who made you the judge? I personaly dislike WOW but I do praise a lot of cool things about the game. EVE-Online boring? Well who gives a crap about your opinion, as soon as Friday hits, I see 40K users having fun together until Sunday night. (adverage 30K online during the week) … SANDBOX? Not sure what happened to you when you were young but you must have missed out on Barbie and friends because in the end, all I see on Sandbox are little Elite Roleplayers making virtual babies, cybering and having tea in their little house. Don’t get me wrong, I love sandbox games.

So you're wasting 350$ per month for MMOs. The problem does not lie with the games but really with you. How can you actually play all these games and have all these accounts with a job that surely pays you enough for 350$ worth of mmos per month? A game is suppose to be a casual entertainement, not a life dictator.

I'm glad that this guy only uses his skills, incomes and talent to play a game. If someone can control 36 accounts at the same time, you don't want to see him behind a chair of power in politics or war.

Let's get things straight. One server does not mean one computer hosting the game. It means a cluster of computers connected together. So on weekends, when people are shopping and lagging out JITA, the game still remains unlaggy in other region. Just a few weeks ago, CCP made some important upgrades to some of their cluster. However, here's the thing... EVE has around 30 000 people online on weeknights and 40 000 on weekends. In EVE, a single solar system is the size of the entire WOW world. Sure, it's mostly space and such but soon, we will have stations and planets to walk around as well. Now a game like WOW has maybe 60 zones right? In EVE we have over 5000 Zones. Most of them are player controllable. Sadly, I doubt EQ, WOW, Darkfall or any other MMO aside from EVE, MAnkind and Dune (if it still existed) can hold 30K plus people on one server. |

Market saturation my friends. The truth is, an Epic Pony is an Epic Pony no matter which MMO you play... I try to stay away from Fantasy games... well except the ones I have with my GF. |

EVE is about being smart. It's not about epic ponies and magic elfs with the gear of heaven. It's not about pressing one button and let your all mighty stats dominate a player. A level 4 skill versus a level 5 is usually a 5% difference in efficiency. A 5% damage difference between two equaly fitted ship is not going to do much. The victor will be decided by who actually outsmart their enemie. A 3 week old player can kick the crap out of a 5 year old player. It's all about how prepared you are with your own ship. Every ship, every piece of gear, every buttons has a meaning. It can be used as a tactical advantage or to the death. In games like WOW, if you're level 10... no matter how hard you try, you'll never scratch a level 80 player. |

My best buddy lost his wife due to MMO. Funny thing is, she left him for a guy that she met on the game. Since he was complaining alot that she was neglecting her familly and kids, she decided to leave and live alone. Things like that should not happen and that situation is sadly more comon for the women then the guys. Guys tend to play for the loot and epic ponies while girls tend to actually live that fairy tale... I'm glad you spent time with your own kid instead of a game. I'll probably close all my account once I have a kids as well. |

I cannot believe that some people will curse the name of someone even in death over a video game. Jeff did alot for us gamers and deserves a memorial, not a bashing fest. I can't believe that so many of the old SWG players are so self centered to their own life that can't even realize that someone here died. Would you like me to laugh at the fate of someone that died close to you? Second, it's not because he was a lead designer that he was actually the guy pulling the strings. It's another solid proof on how people don't understand how things work around this world... Man, if he didn't killed himself because of the community, then wow, he's really strong. Seriously, I don't consider myself better then anyone here. I simply don't understand why people allow themselves to be turned into hate machines over a game...
R.I.P Jeff

You should never disrespect the creation of a rival. First, it is unprofessional for a game devellopper to publicaly say X competitor suck and such. Second, why would you put a dent in your own career? Who knows, you might want to change company in the future. Why be so mean to someone that tried his best? Making a game is not that easy and even if the creation of someone fails or dominates, as a fellow devellopper you should support him. You never know when you’ll work with him and you might as well not make useless enemies. Do you think ID software only plays Quake and RTCW? No, they play BF2142, Unreal and such together. Not for studying purpose… they play the game because it’s well done and fun. I don’t like WOW, however I would never blame it on the devs. At the time they made the game, no one knew how it would turn out later on. They tried to make something that could attract a lot of people without being too hardcore and it worked. Hate them or love them, WOW is a well produce game. Now, if you wish to bitch about a dev, just do it within the walls of your company… you don’t have to show the world that you hate them lol. In the end, why would I respect someone that has no respect for the accomplishement of others. EVEN if it’s completely the opposite of my beliefs, well 11 million players seems to like his creation. My band wouldn’t be releasing an album right now if we started to say that metal band X and Z sucks and have no skills compared to my technical progressive death metal band… We would just look like jackasses instead of gaining fans. |

A game like WOW and MANY others mmo encounrage 13 year old behavior. The main goal is LOOT. So everyone plays for loot and do not lie about it… While some are able to control their mouth, deep down, they are more then happy to get the latest epic pony gear for their tree elf. Since some are more vocal, you get to hear them more often. Most MMO don’t have death penalities or to the very least a way to shut a player down. So people tend to go overboard without realizing that they are acting like a retard. (Trust me, we all did it once) In a game like Mankind or EVE… If you’re bright, you try to avoid acting like a retard or else you’ll soon discover that dying is not exactly good. Especially in low sec… See people are no different then any living creature in this world. You give them the freedom to act without consequences and you’ll quickly discover that some will gladly brain fart and go retard. However, put them in a situation where anything they say can backfire at them, you’ll suddenly discover a completely different person. If I point a gun at your face and tell you to shut up, you will shut up. I tell you to shut up from the other side of the world, you’ll gladly tell me go f*** myself and that you are not afraid of me… until I show up at your door =D WOW does not penalize people for being retards… |

I look at EVE and I tend to wonder if you ever tried it. Read this… it’s a good example of how one person can effect an entire population. Look at this movie… this war has changed many things for many people.
In the end though, it's just a game... I'm glad to log on and glad to log off and go spend time with my family lol. That's where the biggest problem lies these days.... |
