Neither. a pure pve lacks any competition between players and a pure pvp lacks any cooperation between players. i got bored with tabula rasa because there really is no conflict between players because you cant be the bane. who wants to fight there own side while a war is going on? i got bored with fury cause im constatnly fighting other players and never really get the chance to cooperate where we all win instead of just one side wins.

its kind of like the yin yang symbol. you need a balance between the two.

ok i admit yall got me off the topic. yes i know this game cant just rip out the classes since they already based the whole game on them. i am just saying i would like to see a game that does not limit yourself to one playing style. there is a way to balance it but that is another argument. its called thinking positive try it once in awhile. in fact ill make a whole different post just for that.

ive been thinking about my original post and it can be applied to EVERY game not just this game or even most mmo's for that matter.  of course i have to change one of the words and that word is combat. i have to broadin it to a different word CONFLICT. EVERY GAME HAS CONFLICT IF IT DIDNT THERE WOULD BE NO PURPOSE TO PLAY IT. we play games to overcome a conflict and at the end of it we feel like we accomplished something. of course we really havnt in the end. so you just beat a 4 hour dungeon in wow? is your boss gonna give you a raise for it? oh got that special weapon you always wanted? lets see if we can eat at this fancy restaurant because of that. the truth is noone cares in the real world. yea its awesome to win and people talk crap about it all the time but it wont get you anywhere in life. unfortunately it did for some people like that tsquared guy but hes an idiot anyway he dropped out of highschool to play games for crying out loud. no game requires that much skill as say football i bet you i could win a match against tsquared in halo and i dont even play it. that is why i am against a videogame league but that is a different argument.

my point is all games are a waste of time and are  played simply for enjoyment. i do not understand however how some people can have fun sitting infront of a computer for 4 hours and accomplish ONE thing while someone who sits in front of a tv for 15 minutes and win on a match in call of duty.  yes i know it is my opinion and people are different and so on. there is no law against me expressing myself and letting other people discuss it so please be a little more respectful in your posts.

where is your proof? what purpose does this post have? they are making money therefore it stays up.

no but it helps. with technology getting better every day there is no excuse now to have a good computer. also age of conan is not that bad of a game people are just upset because it didnt have that one feature like it promised. play games to enjoy them not  to look for their faults.

people are different so they will play different ways. why does a game have to force this on you? why cant you play the way you want to? what is so wrong with someone who likes bows and can cast magic? or how about a staff wielder that does more melee attacks than magical ones? it does not make sense to me but to someone else it might.  what is so wrong with playing the way you want to? why does this game force you to play one way or pay to play another? noone will play the same way we are all different have different personalities and ways to play games. of course i am favor of balancing it all out like theres only a certain number of skills you can max out at one time. this is a different argument though.

i single this one out because it makes the game less fun than just going with something that makes more sense. i agree with balancing it all out but it can be done another way like the realistic way. to improve ones skill you do it and you neglect the others loosing skill in them. they did it that way to make you play the game longer to get the gold to loose your memory basically or to make a whole new character.  and before everyone whines about it yes it is my opinion.

no. because there is already a game for that its called REAL LIFE.

i dont get the talent thing honustly. to me to improve ones technique you have to actually do that technique. this is why i am against levels but that is another argument. so you buy a technique from a guy who in no way even shows you how to peform that technique and you level up and have the possibility of never usin that technique and put a talent point in it so your better at it now. makes no sense to me. then you want to play as a different type of player so you have to pay to loose your memory basically so you can put the points in other places.i have the willpower to forget myself thank you very much.

i like to get up close and personal. i only play as melee classes. i dont pay attention to magic users or whatever unless they arnt healing me which i get quite upset. pretty much i cant comment on that.

maybe if i say it this time your get it. all i am trying to do is express my opinion on why people play this game. it is up to your own free will to agree or disagree. i only put in all the you stuff to get you involved in it more not to force you into it. please do not take this seriously as it is only a post after all.

unfortunately after i wrote this i remembered the noncombat pets i was waiting how long before someone says it. yea i was wrong my bad. the pets do nothing anyway except follow you.

who says i am offended? honustly i think you all are taking this too seriously. lighten up people its just one persons opinion if you dont like it say why but let me say i do not appreciated the insults. im talkin about the comments that pretty much say i am stupid for making this post.

im sorry but i do not feel like arguin with you anymore about the SAME thing. this is your whole argument, i am telling you how your not liking this game yet you play it. that is not true i am telling you my opinion as to why people play it. i only said things like you are brainwashed so you can understand better. if you enjoy it fine but let us discuss why some do and some dont it is not a crime. its not like im predicting the second coming of jesus.

stradegy in this game is who has the better equipment which is who spent more time in the game. when you get people who have EQUAL level of equipment then we can actually have tactics and stradegy. when i say wackamole i mean how the animations are. get two warriors together and you will see how they take turns hitting each other till one dies. it is the same as in warcraft 3. other games like guildwars or age of conan the characters are more fluent in their attacks. now i will say this warcraft is better than final fantasy 11 in combat. the characters in that game look so bored when fighting.

i pray to God everyday that they will wise up and make a game that is not based on levels. all levels are is i played this game longer than you have.

Erm, you may want to take a look over my posts again or actually read them in the first place, as at no point did i say that everyone else should enjoy the game as i do, all of my comments were made from a personal point of view.

As for people posting the game sux without any real proof, it may be worth taking a look over your initial post too, i have seen swiss cheese with less holes in it!

i dont even know where you got this from so i am not gonna comment on it. all i am gonna say is i am trying to let you people see a different point of view on this game.
 

i give more than enough reason for my argument. i said everything revolves around combat which it does and i even asked for people to prove me wrong. the combat is not fun because of the bunny hopping and playing wackamole until one dies. i am not gonna write my whole argument here but i hope you get the point i have backed up all i said. all you did was compare me with a piece of cheese which made me hungry.

warcrafts bunny hoppin is pointless unless your a rogue like you said. even if you get out of the way, they still have a chance to hit you cause its all based on calculations. it makes more sense in halo cause your trying to get out of the way of the bullets. i do not like halo that much i just use it as an example cause more people are familiar to it then other games.  i would much like to see at least flips or something when you jump instead of looking stiff when you jump.

1-i only did it like that to make it more dramatic. if everyone posts stuff like this game sucks because i believe it sucks and noone should play this game because i am the ruler of the universe i could post a i think you all play this because of this. i dont take any post seriously but at least i have somewhat of a point in them.

2-EVERY GAME is get the other guy before he gets you. fps are just more fun because you actually can control it instead of waiting for calculations like in warcraft. i have this much attack damage and that guy has this much defense and agility and lets roll dice to see if i hit him and so on.

3-i guess you have not played warcraft 3 then. look how they attack and imagine wow without all the bunny hoppin. the COMBAT is almost identical there are just more moves in wow. i am comparing the COMBAT not the whole games.

if you like the social part of it you can always go into chatrooms without paying 15bucks a month or go into teamchat or whatever. if you dont want to be yelled at then mute the person or turn off your mic not that hard my friend.

i am not telling you what you like and dont like, im just letting you understand this game better. i know it sounds like that but i did it like that to make it more dramatic. the bottom line is this game is all about the combat and  if you dont like the combat then why are you playing it? i hear people all the time complaining about combat and pvp sucks in this game and it goes on and on my question is why you playing it then? everything you do is to aid you in combat or to do combat so why bother?

oh but it does. what do you do with your minerals and herbs? make potions, weapons and armor which are all things used in combat.

first off let me say that all this is MY OPINION and in no way of saying it is a fact. it might sound like it but i only typed it like this to heighten the emotional contact to it. emotional contact NOT ANGER. 10 points to who can figure out what movie that is from.

everything in this game revolves around combat. think about it you know its true. i think it is common sense but if you can prove me wrong feel free to. unfortunately though the combat in this game is not that good. i mean who seriously enjoys clicking on an enemy and play wack a mole till one of you is dead? oh i forgot about the bunny hoppin that really serves no purpose in the combat. so why is it that this is the most popular mmo? beats me. i think it is because there is so much stuff for you to do and it takes a good amount of time to do it. you cant even get to max lvl unless you spend like a month on a character. im talkin about normal people who play a couple hours a day at the least not the i have no life 5 hours a day people. if you think 5 hours a day is normal think about this, a normal person works about 8 hours a day plus 5 hours for your game equals 13 hours, 8 hours of sleep equals up to 21 and those extra 4 hours i hope are for eating and stuff like that. sad if this is you isnt it? im just messin around lighten up people. back to my topic, so you level up your dude to 80 now and you still have a bunch to do with that character. you got 4 hour dungeons to raid and farm the hell out of the monsters and resources to make some gold. everything in this game takes a good amount of time to do. dont expect to do anything in half an hour. then your friend wants to play with you so you gotta make another character and start all over. and it just keeps going and going and going.

my point is yall are not really having fun at all. your just proud of yourself for putting all that time in this game which is brainwashing you to make you think you have accomplished something.  someone could have just as much fun playing a 15 minute match on call of duty or halo. that person could  play the same map over 10 times and spend as much time playing matches on it as someone in one dungeon. why? because the combat in those games is fun and fast pace.

look at it this way if your still not convince. what is the difference between combat on this game and the rts games before it? you hop around and only control one person. play warcraft 3 and play this game you know its true.

all warcraft is is a bunch of stuff to keep you busy so your pay more money each month

whatever happen to this type of elves? you have night and blood elves, what about the regular elves? for the next expansion they should do this. add high elves for the alliance and goblins for the horde. also i would like to see a necromancer for the undead and a sort of archer class for the night elves. that might not happen but i would like to see exclusive classes for each side. balancing each side out makes it pointless to have two sides fighting each other doesnt it? there are more changes i would like to happen to this game but i dont feel like writing all of it since i dont even play it.

i dont know much about ryzom but on eve you are always in pvp mode from what i understand. the sims online isnt even fun anyway who wants to pay a monthly fee to simulate real life anyway? dont even get me started on second life from my experience i saw porn i never knew existed or even dream to think of.

lets go back on topic shall we? everything you do in a town in this game aids you when you leave town. so without leaving town and doin missions, quests, or pvp its pointless isnt it? so the main focus of this game is when you go by yourself or with teammates to do quests, missions, or fighting other teams in pvp. this game is revolved around combat as in most mmo's. and you only do the combat with your teammates and with the other teams in pvp which isnt the majority of the players in the game. its not a mmorpg. you are competing with everyone but not excatly playing with everyone. its a corpg.

think of it this way. whats the difference between a town in guildwars and the lobby or whatever its called  from warhammer 40k? you move around a character in guildwars. heres another example if you still dont get it. gunz the dual when you first log in. you can equip your person, talk to other people, and look for a room to play the game. same thing is in guildwars. you talk to people, buy sell and trade things, look for teammates to go out and do quests or whatever. people dont consider gunz or warhammer 40k an mmo.
