Again.. 64bit wont out perform 32 even then unless the 64bit hardware is just plain better than the 32bit and requires that 64bit architecture. I can run my old Athlon64 X2 on both 32 and 64 with near exact results. Same with my Intel x86. All depends on the hardware. |

64bit will not always out perform 32-bit. XP DOES support 4GB of RAM with the right CPU but will only show 3.25, the full 4GB will be used though. I believe yours should have PAE (Physical Address Extension) which allows it. Increasing resolution will lower performance since it will render more pixels but on a 8800GT you will see maybe a 3-5FPS drop. Forgot to add, It takes such little configuration to enable all 4GBs... Simply changing 1 sentence of text enables it. sigh and forgot to say this aswell.. If you have SP2 it automatically enables PAE so you don't have to worry or change anything. |

(not going to read 7 pages of possible flaming.. heres my 2 cents though) 48v48 is a very solid number for the fact you WILL have to plan an attack instead of just rush rush rush zerg keke. It will reduce lag and open up the community as more guilds battle. Many guilds is better than 3-5, 500 persons guild. If you can't understand why then I suggest learning about economy than what gear looks better. |

I'll never buy a game online because it then causes 5x more problems if anything happens. Walked to my EBGames, got my pre-order and now waiting for the May 14th patch. |

The whole reason people insult others is because of negative ATTENTION. You just help them along by posting these things and showing more and more and MORE people that will just say, STFU YOUR HORRIBLE etc. Now if people were only smart enough to ignore something... they should learn to leave some things alone because all they will do is cause more trouble if they try to do anything about it. 80% of mmorpg forums is a prime example of people flaming and crying because others WILL RESPOND TO THEM BECAUSE OF IT. |

Why do so many people insist on playing AoC on a laptop? If you want to play an MMORPG on your sisters hand me down facebook/ Katie and Peter search machine then go for WoW. Otherwise you're probably gonna end up on these forums bitching and whining about how AoC sucks and it takes too long to load. Get a real PC, your laptop might run AoC but I'd bet the loading screens will take ages. Also what's the max screen resoloution? Too many extra problems with a laptop to run AoC even close to a PC, a top of the range laptop will run it but still I'd have a fan stand due to over heating issues that all laptops will have with AoC. Laptop = WoW, surfing the net, downloading porn. PC = AoC!
Take note of your own sig... Laptops run desktop hardware but at a price and portability cost. Battery will only last maybe 1-2 hours but just plug it in and your good. |

$1300 is to much. $900-1k should be the final price. Lower if the items are on sale. If you want aswell I know a very good laptop company that can throw together 8800, 4gb ddr2 800mhz, and e8400 :P but thats $3k. Also will have to wait a bit. Me and some buddies are playing TF2 atm. |

Now just to help a little bit of a reference computer, here is what my friend plays it on: XP SP2 2GB DDR 350Mhz X800 512MB He can get a proper 20FPS on lowest settings in a crowded city but has more than average load times and can sometimes dip down to 5 fps when walking around and loading textures. 2gb is the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM of RAM you want for this game. Any less and your just asking for Hard-drive troubles and long loading/low FPS. |

windows xp 2gb ram Nvidia GeForce 8600GT 256MB Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz
Should play it just fine on Medium, even bumping a few things up a bit. |

Pentium{R} 4 CPU MHz 1.79 Ghz 1.25 GB of Ram Radeon X1950 PRO
Sorry to say, but not at a playable level even on lowest settings. Your card will be able to but the CPU and RAM (if its DDR) will just take FOREVER to load and FPS will be hindered because the game will be constantly accessing your HD and RAM which wont keep up. |

Its DDR2. I have an alienware laptop. Where would u suggest going to get a better laptop video card as the one i have is apparently poop :-P
Not sure if you can swap that video card out but if its Alienware ask them if they can. Hold out on the upgrade because when it comes to laptops I could wrong by quite a bit and its only a week away from release. Do send me a PM of how it goes though so I can further help others. |

What exactly is holding me back? the video card? Yes. 7600 is a mid range 7X series and a GO to add on with that so I wouldn't except great results but it will play it just fine on Low, but again Medium is questionable. Also I'm not sure if your running DDR or DDR2 as thats is going to be a huge factor in performance as well. I could be wrong as I don't know much about laptop portable video cards (I never use laptops), but from other scaling I would think it would be a between a desktop 6600 - 6800. Try to run some settings on medium, and the heavy rendering low (IE: shadows to character only and minimal view distance). |

Athlon 64 FX-53 6800 ultra agp 2gb ram xp sp2 Yes. Could run it on Medium with maybe a couple settings bumped up to the high-ish zone.
I'll keep watching this thread, if people want to ask me any hardware questions feel free but please post your system specs such as so: CPU, RAM (DDR, 2, 3), MOBO, GPU, and powersupply if your wondering. |

It will play on Low, possibly medium. XP also... Vista is just horrible will bring you down those extra FPS that you want to keep it looking smooth. And do NOT share memory with this game or else your just asking for horrible load times and lag. |

Don't take this as written in stone, but I believe the 3 day early access is the Collector's Edition and I know for fact that not all game retailers have the Rhino, Mammoth, or 8 slot bag pre-order. My closest EBGames has the Mammoth but the EB at local mall doesn't have either. |

"You might be able to run it on low setting. But I wouldn't count on it with that setup. Maybe upgrade to a dual core CPU and then try it." Wont help. This game is more graphics and RAM hungry than CPU. Complete new computer would be needed. |

Well it would be able to run it but it wont be playable at all. You'll be getting about 5fps average I would think. |
