I think they are doing it .  The first real mmorpg that has a skill for everything you do.

So this means every lvl 1 is diff from the start. Diff armor  diff  weapons ,  diff stats, diff health bars , diff mana lvls , diff spells ,  just all around diff. 

 

So no its by far better then anything even being made.

Think about it most ppl that rate this game are the only ones that are not playing this game no more OR just dont like it .

 

Because there here!  The ones that like the game are in the game and dont even visit this place because there is no need.

Now that is just most ppl ,  not every single person because i got the game just about 4 days ago and its ok . No lag and very good graphics.  But for me,  i like sandbox game where you fight to live , not fight to lvl.

I like a game that is like everyday life with the fictional charactors of course.  You know the ones you got to eat in to stay alive.

I think this game will come out perfect.  You know why? 

Because these guys dont say nothing about there game ever . They want everyone to wonder and think. And they know what ppl are saying and they wont to make all ppl that say neg. things about this to eat it up.

 

They are so quit with this game that it has to be good.

Every othere mmo talks from the time they start to finish.  Darkfall dont talk they produce!

It is like a paradox, you can't beat WoW by being the same as WoW because why not just play WoW which won't close down in X years. Exactly what game is everyone waiting for to surpass WoW, it is not going to happen. Even EA and Games Wokshop with multi-million budget couldn't even get 10% of WoW's number. "Oh yeah EQ2 will beat WoW" (1 month before both games released) These forums were littered with WoW vs EQ2 threads months before and after both games come out.

Let's try sci-fi yeah cos that work out well for EnB, Tabula Rasa and HG:L and Auto Assault..

"WAR is coming" WAR came and went.

It doesn't matter what game you compare WoW with. WoW will always be on top I predict for at least 10 years. It now has 11 million subscribers and has been out for nearly 4 years and to suggest that its population will shrink enough for another MMO to usurp it is ridiculous.

Whatever game anyone suggests I will laugh at like some megolomaniacal James Bond baddie. You may as well just play WoW.

I played wow for about 1 month and to me it was the same as all the mmos out there but with better graphics.  I am just waiting on darkfall .

Is there any hope?

PS: sorry Mr. Jacobs but that 70% retention rate is going to take a serious hit when the 2nd billing cycle occurs next week. More Server merges inc.

That is a good comment,  I know what you like  just like what i like and thousands of others here as well.
 

 

X -  Sample   A place in the game that has alot of resouces like herbs used for potion making .   Now me and 20 others are there  and we are talking the whole time to make sure we are safe from enemys. Now enemys have come and they want this good spot for there own crafters ,   now we fight for hours we call to are whole race for help why the skilled pickers pick the good fighters fight. 

 

There you have something to kill for and a whole lot of commuicating for long periods at a time .

That is just fun to login and have someone call your name and say help us over here buddy we are loseing land and need your help.

I am going to work hard in this game to be one of if not the most skill player in the game .

 

 

I love the freedom  in darkfall ,  its all a matter of practicing to be the best.

Skilled fighting makes it good for a noob to wipe a vet off the game .

Darkfall is supposed to have all vacant land because it will be built up by us the players .

 

Towns and shops and boats, all this stuff is how we will make our money we need to buy stuff we need.

If everything was already made by the npc,    then where would we get our money to buy stuff we need?

 

Playing this game will not get boring because you will always be developing skills of some sort.

Playing a game where you got to work and fight is something real good to me. 

 

There is one thing that bothers me ,    and  it is not knowing if everyone has the same skills as everyone else.  To be a great game everyone should not be on the same level and be able to do the same things. You can do all skills to some extent but only master one.  Is this correct?  Is the skill hard to reach maximum level?  For example...if someone plays every day for five hours a day for two years can they max their skill level for one certain skill?  And if they do not practice this skill every day will the stats of the skill drop  because that is what I like.  A game that is like real life... where you have to work at something to be good at it and progress.

 

Do they have item and money drops from mobs?    Because If they do,   then this  is a bad idea.  People should earn their own money by adding to the community ...  Like say someone is a fisherman,   that fisherman sells his catch to a Cook  at  that is how the fisherman makes his living.

 

And  a  {Pet Trainer} would train pets to sell  for his liveing.   

 

Is there a pet trainer in the game ?

 

I know one thing thou ,   if skill takes along time to go up then this will solve all my worrys .    Because skill only gos up when you use that one skill.  So this means if there are thousands of skill that everyone will be good at a few but superb at one.

You know i never did buy that warhammeronline game. And i used to buy every game that hit the stand. One reason that i did not buy the game is  that i said i will not buy another game that did not have a sandbox type style.

Sandbox player ran games is the best.  And Darkfall made a sandbox better then the original sandbox .    they put in a good combat system and graphic  in to a sandbox = {player  ran player made stuff}  And this has never been done by no one else.

 

So this is a true [  Next Generation Game!!!!!!

Have  Weather that will kill you would be nice.  Also not  eating and drinking should kill you .

There should be first person veiw.  Everyone in the game should be able to wear what they want and use what ever weapon they want and so on,  AS Long as they have the money.

 

Items like money and rings and so on  should not drop out of mobs.

 

The money should come from a skilled trade .           From picking herbs , fishing  , lumberjacks, weapon makeing , carpenders,  and  so on.  Or from thieves where they can go invisible and take small amounts of stuff based on his skill. And the only way to see them is if you  have   the potion to see them.  which is made by SKILLED potions makers.

Or just player mercenaries  that want to risk losing everything could be a trade.

 

Also there is one more class i would love to see and that is a ILLUSIONIST  they would be a blast.     Changing into what ever is near them to hide i always like them in EQ.

Iam with you to 10 .  Just hope the game is ran by jobs . Fighting for land and killing the enemy and then looting him is one big plus to a reason to kill .

It sounds the best but one thing that is not there.

 

good side and bad side fighting for resorces. Like say you got this real good spot that you and the enemy know about  and it has real good potion making stuff on this spot of land.  And when you log in ppl will ask you to help with holding the enemy back so the ppl with high skill points in herbs can pick lots of herbs.

 

 

See something to fight for and it will be fun to join all your friends to fight off the enemys trying to take the land over ,  because say this is the best place for that one item to spawn at.

 

Skills do they go down still after you dont do something for awile? That was a very good thing.

 

Infinity skills that was a good one to but you change that to. To skill 100?  How ez is it to get that ?

Please tell me  you did not make it real ez to master skills,  and please tell me you everyone in the  game can make every last item?

What i mean is  i want to work for my money but i dont want to beable to do everything in the game so i dont have to rely on no one.

Should have tammers ,  miners, pickers, fisherman, lumberjacks, and skill should only go up if you use it and it should take years to master by playing everyday.

This way everyone has one thing they can do real good.

Building a fire to cook on and fishing to eat all this kind of stuff should be in the game not just kill and kill for now reason.

if there is nothing to fight for as a team then there is no fun that will last years of playing.

Wear what you want to ware if you got the money. Money comes from trade skills only. No  money drops from mobs  only thing should drop is fur and bones and meat, that skilled tradesman can put to good makes.

 

eating in this game should be just like real life you stop eating and you die but instead of never comeing back you come back with skill points in everything you got skill in droped about 10 skill points on every skill when dead. 

I like how you got the game set up its the closest thing to what i like in a mmo next to a sandbox type game .

 

I just hope skills is hard to get so it makes everyone be diff in the game.

Say i swim alot and never fight and i been playing this game for 3 weeks and that is all i did was swim.

 

Now the chances that someone builded there swimming skill as much as i did is slim and none. And this is where skill deprecation comes in , if some one swam as much as i did  but in 2 years of playing they should not be near as fast as me because that is all i do all day . 

 

And that person that swam as much as i did and took him 2 years should be at skill 1 on swimming because he forgot how to swim because he did not do it all the time. That is just a xsample of what iam talking about .

 

Thousands of skills Thousands of things to make with thousands of stats  .

 

Xsample --  Iam makeing a sword , a broadsword and someone else is makeing one to the same sword,   now is this sword going to have the same stats as all broadswords have or is every sword made going to have diff stats ? This is what i hate if you make the same sword then depending on the crafters skill the stats should be way diff   . 

 

Broadsword = +100 slashing attack if hit   Broadsword from someone that not as good skilled as one --- Broadsword = +28 slashing attack

Broadsword can be welded by anyone that can aford it.  Get where iam comeing from?

Money should only come from skill trades from picking plants and selling them to someone that sell potions.

 

Chopping wood and selling it to a carpender.

 

Fisherman sells his fish to a cook  ,    cook makes good food that give someone 100 xtra damage if eaten for 5 mins. Get where iam comeing from?

 

Makeing a game that is competive and has meaning. Game where there is now showing of what lvl someone is ,  just like real life you dont know the names of ppl if you never met them before.

Mini maps get rid of them , maps should be made by someone in the game .

First person veiw needs to be in the game and no other way to veiw the game ether. This makes it more real and scary in a way.

blocking on your own should be a skill more you block incomeing attacks the better the skill gets but a very slow processe of corse.

Skills for everything you do in this game would be great. Death penalty should be harsh not a slap on the hand.

 

There should only be two side in this game a good side and a bad side.

 

Going invisible should mean what it said invisible. No one should beable to see them .  Only way to see them would be from potions from a hi skilled potion make made .

 

Only one high skill trade for one person and that is if he or she does it all the time for there liveing.

 

Should beable to hide and let enemy run right by you if you are hide good.

 

Same suits  , swords , pants armor if they got the same name that does not mean there made as good as the other. Crafting skills need to make the big big big difff.

Timeing games on makeing stuff should be on this game so everyone has to time there stuff to the {  T }  if you know what i mean.

 

I want to go mine but the real good mineing spots are taken by the enemy .  So what do i do ? I call for my side to help me get in this mine and fight for this mine so we can have better stuff to make. We got to send in are best miners to mine why the rest of the team fight for there survival. Get what i mean ?   

 

Something to fight for and not just running around hit things in the head for nothing.

 

That is just a few things i thought of.

Because you cant wear what you want you got to wear stuff only at your lvl.

Armor dont make much diff. either.  Not skill bace so everyone is the same. Every lvl 1 is the same as every lvl 1 and so on.

 

With a skill bace game that only gos up in skill on what you do ,  and you have thousands of skills to do then everyone will be diff . they will have diff  work skills and diff fighting skills. Skill should only move up on what you do and drop on what you dont do.

 

There is nothing to fight for no object no resources because everything can be got at the local npc.

 

No sandbox type in this game .

 

If you craft you craft the same thing everyone else crafts no diff stats on the food or weapons and so on.

All you have to do in this game and all the rest of the games out now is hit mobs in head .

 

Because you get all the money you need no hard work from a trade.  If there was some kind of resource to protect and have the rest of you side in there colecting herbs why the others fight off the enemys then that is fun. That is just one example of thousands of trade skills and fighting .

works skills and fighting skills should be baced on your exp. not your lvl.

Let me tell you a turn off for me,   ok  ,  broadswords  when someone makes these they should all be different  in there stats some one that dont have there skill raised in fighting and made weapons all the time to sell should have stats on this weapon at top notch.  And these weapons should be for anyone that can afford this weapon.

Everyone should not be the same.  Your stats should be based on your skills and how hard you have worked to achieve this skill.  If you do not use this skill then it should go down in stat and eventually you will lose it  not stay the same.  A game should be based on your hard work and willingness to be number one  not just to get on and play and have things handed to you.  You have to work for what you need and want. 

There should be no money drops .  Everything should come from your trade skill.

sandbox games was missing one major thing in mmos years ago and one thing only.

 

That is the sandbox games did not have no good combat systems and no good graphics.

If they had this i can bet that almost everyone would still be playing that game right now.

Sandbox games rule because you can live in that type of game.   Not just get loot off monsters ,,    but have a real job to.
